Works great

A hurricane through our area pushed a tree branch through the screen on our porch. These screen patches saved us from having to fight off the misquotes from entering or having to cover the hole with duck tape (ugly solution). They are easy to cut and fit and seal to the existing screen in minutes with just a regular hair dryer on high. We used one patch inside of the screen on the biggest hole and then added a larger patch on the outside to be sure the it was covered securely. Several other smaller holes seemed to do fine with just one patch on the inside. It's really hard to see them once they are in place. They have held up well through 2 more hurricanes so far this year. We have extra patches on hand in case this happens again.

Goes on great, doesn’t hold up
By Amazon Customer on Reviewed in the United States on March 20, 2024
I was initially very impressed with this product. The screen mend went on quickly and easily with high heat from a hair dryer. It seemed to adhere well to the screen. However, I used these to repair a few tears in the screens on my pop up camper and when I folded the screens to put it away, the screen mends immediately fell off. These would probably work well on a screen that is not manipulated much if at all. Maybe on a window screen or sliding screen door. But if they’re going on something that will be exposed to any sort of movement like in camping or marine applications, I’d look elsewhere.

It works!

I was skeptical about how easy to use this Screenmend repair kit would be and how well it would work. But it's just as promised: clean the area around the hole, cut the sheet to fit, hold it in place, and blast it with a hot hair dryer for well under a minute. Several days after using it, the patch is still securely in place. It's also easier to apply and less noticeable than the Secopad screen repair tape I also bought. Screenmend is not a perfect replacement for a new screen, but it works much better than I expected. I'd post a pic but I can't take one that clearly shows the repair patch; that's how nicely it blends in.
Came detached from white "peel-off" sheet but worked fine

I used small pieces of patch to cover 4 small holes from squirrels trying to get at bird feeders. The reduced rating is from moment of panic not knowing which side had adhesive, because the white sheet was not in place, but another post told me that the smooth side of the patch is the glue side. I did not try to match holes in patch to holes in screen, so I can't speak to that. The screen was left vertical and was slightly bellied out (from weight of the squirrel), but I achieved satisfactory positioning using tiny safety pins (left open) pushed in as far as they would go to hold the patch in place and that worked well. Two weeks later, patches remain firmly in place.

I have to highly recommend this product and wanted to offer some info after using it. First suggestion I would make to buyers is to perhaps buy 2 or 3 packages as each package contains 2 5x7 sheets and you might find you need more or want a bigger patch than cutting it. Also one question/concern i read before buying was those areas where the screen hole/tear meets the edge of the door or bottom of the door which was one thing I wanted to try fixing (cat looking to get out on porch LOL). In fixing the spots using Screenmend, I noticed that once you use the hairdryer you will be able to see when the wax is starting to melt with little bright beads (look like water droplets) when that happened I moved the hairdryer to another section of the patch. It worked perfectly (so i would recommend fixing during daylight hours so you can see this happens). Second regarding the area near the bottom of the screen. I knew it would take a bit of work and improvisation so here is what I did. I had my daughter help me and I took a piece of tape (packing tape, clear) on each side to grab the bottoms of the ripped screen and sorta hold it in place and adhere it to the bottom of the door and then we used 2 screenmends side by side and applied them over the screen, then the tape and to the bottom where the aluminum bottom meets the screen edge. it worked like a charm. Althought as other point out you can see this fix, it actually looks decent uncut pieces appear almost like a door for pets (even though I am trying to keep my cat in LOL so hopefully she wont look at it that way). It looks decent and cost only 8 bucks to fix! I should have bought a few more just in case I needed them. By the way my Cat minnie use to love the porch and sun herself but when she started climbing up to the neighbors condo upstairs and couldnt get down it was not fair to the owner to have to deal with Mt Everest climbing kitty (so if anyone knows of any anti-kitty climb up wood pole stuff let me know!)
Very easy to adhere

This product performs as advertised and is very easy to use. It makes repairing holes in screens very quick and easy. Just cut the size needed (with extra all around for adherence), use a hair dryer on it and you are done! It couldn’t be easier.
Needs a heat gun to set

This product works very well once properly adhered, but for it to work correctly you NEED a heat gun. The packaging says a hair dryer will cut it, but that does not get it hot enough at all, and it will peel off in a few days. After that initial failure I redid it with the heat gun and it's been holding strong for 4+ months now.

Works fine. Used product before in past. Only concern when I opened package the non-stick wax type paper was already falling off. Made my repair and so far so good.
