Works fine

Dog will use this if he needs to, we still focus on 100% outside pees so this is a temporary measure in our house. I have a mini dachshund. They are notoriously difficult to potty train. So this has been a good help. The only thing I can say about this that might be remotely negative is that the weave on the grass is very tight. This causes it to hold smells and be difficult to clean. I put the tray on top of pee pads and then I put pee pads under the grass so that I can pull the pee pads and change them when I wash it 2 to 3 times a week. The grass is holding up well under all that washing. I tend to use scrubbing bubbles. And hot water. But the smell is never really gone from the grass. This is not a dealbreaker, just something to be aware of.

Urine pools underfoot
By tuanomsoc on Reviewed in the United States on June 21, 2025
I think this brand used to be good, but they have changed the manufacture of the artificial turf such that it now does not drain at all. Our 5 lb puppy has a bladder the size of an acorn, but her pee pools up in the grass so her rear feet wind up soaked in urine. I just replaced our patch with another one and it had the exact same issue. I threw it out immediately. This is worse than letting her just go on the carpet.
