Super NIce Oven - Looks Great and Does the Job
By E. A. Jacques on Reviewed in the United States on March 17, 2018
I bought this so I could stop using my old a** oven, which has caught fire more than once, just to make chicken wings or some other small item. I have had toaster ovens way back when, like in the 70s, so I was a little apprehensive based on what I remembered. While functionally the same as the older models, this one is much better made and has a nice sleek look to it. I especially like the way the door opens up which saves a lot of counter space - something I am lacking in my kitchen. The controls are nothing fancy, but easy to understand and operate. I use it for all of my baking and broiling needs. Makes the chicken wings with no problem, bakes a nice loaf of bread, does a great job with fish and meatloaf - pretty much anything that will fit that you might put in a normal oven. I use it pretty much every day now and don't use my full size oven at all - which is probably a good thing. It's fairly easy to clean. Although cleaning the glass on the door is a bit tricky, but the inside cleans up easy enough as does the included pan and rack. The bottom drip pan comes out easily for cleaning as well. Yes it does get hot. It is an oven after all. I have it up against the back splash of my counter top which keeps it 3-4 inches from the wall and it does not get the wall or back splash nearly hot enough to cause any concern. You definitely would not want to put something flammable on top while in operation or leave it unattended....duh? Very well made and nice looking toaster oven that I can highly recommend.

My 10 year old T-Fal Toaster/Convection Oven, although still working fine, was too far gone to ever get it cleaned up and presentable-enough to continue sitting on my counter top, so I decided to replace it with this Hamilton Beach. Although now I'm not so sure I made the right decision. To be honest, both were made in China, even the 10 year old T-Fal, but the build quality is like night and day between the two. Too bad the T-Fal Avanti is no longer made. So anyway, here are some measurements for the Hamilton Beach you may find helpful. Cord: About 35" long, it comes out the bottom of the oven towards the right-hand side as you're facing the front of the oven. Exterior Dimensions: I included the handle and the pizza bump in my measurements. 18.5" Wide x 15" Deep x 14" High when the door is raised. Interior Dimensions: (Rack) 13" Wide x 10" Deep not including the pizza bump. A pan comes with it; it measures 11" x 9" and is about the same height as a cookie sheet. 1. The crumb tray is easy to remove and clean. 2. It is not all stainless. The top and interior appears to be, but the sides are metal painted in a graphite gray color with a slight sparkle. 3. I'm shocked at the heat this puts off. I can feel the heat from it when I walk within 18" of the front. My old T-Fal Avanti oven must have been well-insulated as I never felt any heat when standing near the oven and I could actually touch that T-Fal with my bare hands and not feel it was too hot to be dangerous. With this Hamilton-Beach oven, you WILL get burned if you touch it long enough. So I wouldn't recommend this around kids unless they are supervised. 4. There are 4 rod-type heating elements, two in the top and two on the bottom. As far as baking, it does the job fairly well. You can fit a 12" pizza on the rack in this. The convection fan is quiet. It can hold 6 regular-size pieces of toast, toasts evenly, but I'd still rather use my toaster for toast and leave this for baking. It has a mechanical timer and "dings" once when it shuts off, unless you set the timer way as far as it will go and it stays on. I never use that as I think the stay-on feature could be dangerous. Otherwise, the maximum setting is 30 minutes.
