Get wrong watch version and it's not compatible to carriers in the USA
By LZ on Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2016
Amazon, please make the version correct otherwise it will not work in any USA carriers!!!! We know that the GEAR S is a dual-band GSM device and it supports either GSM 850/1900 MHz for North America or GSM 900/1800 MHz for the rest of the world. The watch advertised here is R750W and it should support GSM 850/1900 MHz for USA GSM carriers, like T-mobile and AT&T. The first watch received was R750S/K and the replacement watch received today is R750S. None of them will work in the USA. Please send the correct version R750W as you advertised here Samsung Galaxy Gear S R750W Smart Watch w/ Curved Super AMOLED Display (Black). Review continued in September/2018. First of all, I got the correct watch from Amazon after the last review and hope most of you got the right watch afterwards. I have been wearing the watch for over 2 years. The swipe and tap input is very intuitive and still outperforms the new S generations. I travel to other cities and the watch always gets compliment until today like it‘s just rolled out in the market. The sim card slot gives you the freedom to pick whatever carriers and plans you want that today’s watches with esim are dreaming of. Nov 2019 The watch is still functioning very well and I am not able to find any equivalent products in the market given the curved square shape, useful features and the sim card slot for any carriers. To be continued...

Good concept bad product!
By M on Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2015
This is a very expensive wristband. After about three months of use this Samsung Gear, has become useless. It turns itself off for reasons I can’t understand even with a full battery. The Bluetooth connectivity is horrid. If the phone is more than 5 inches from the Gear it disconnects. I have to hold the phone on my left hand (same hand as the Samsung Gear is on) or it will disconnect from the phone. The process of connecting and disconnecting via Bluetooth drains the battery in no time. This Samsung Gear is a good concept but don’t waste your money it is far from perfect. If you use the Samsung Gear features (like making a call, receiving notification, play music) you will spend most of the day charging it. The battery life is measured in hours. The only way I get a good half day out of the battery is by keeping it in Airplane mode. I have purchased two charging cradles which I keep with me all the time to keep the Samsung Gear battery from dying. Just Two days after writing the above review the Samsung Gear would no longer connect via Bluetooth with the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phone. A few hours later the screen died and that ended the file of my Samsung Gear S R750W Smart Watch. It is no wonder why this item is sold without warranty; their life expectancy in measured in weeks. After spending close to $400 to use the Samsung Gear S for three months I am convinced this is the last product I will purchase from Samsung. I purchased this product because I was planning a trip to Europe for a year and I wanted to track my walking. After only 6 weeks in Europe the Gear stopped working. I contacted Samsung and was told to bring it to the nearest Samsung technical support center. After traveling to Malaga, Spain 67 kilometers away from my current location, the Samsung technical support center informed me since I purchased the product outside the European Union they could not fix it. I was told I had to purchase a new one. I have lost all confidence in Samsung products and their support. They wasted my time and ripped me off.
