This is a wonderful tablet--

This is a wonderful tablet--the retinal display visuals are gorgeous and the screen is larger than most, so you can really see them. It is quite easy to use , something important to me since I am technically challenged. We got it for my husband after he had a stroke, and I have probably used it more than he has so far. But he is getting more interested in it, and I will no doubt end up ceding it entirely to him.

Eh it's okay, but I recommend just going with the iPhone 6/6+

I received the correct item, and delivery was very fast. However after only owning it for 3 days I am already experiencing issues with the screen shutting off randomly on me during use. No, it's not a setting issue, it just shuts off. Other than that it works well. I inserted my sim card for German Telekom and it worked without any issues with the cellular. I don't understand however why it can't receive text messages sent to my number affiliated with the sim card. You also can't make calls, you are limited to just wifi abilities on the cell network which doesn't make sense to me. I have been an iPad/iPhone user now since the 1st gen, but this is the first time owning an iPad with cellular capabilities. Didn't know what to expect.

I never give a 5 so 4 is usually my top rating. This iPad is beautiful and very powerful. It is definitely a 4+. I was a high tech manager so I know the evolution of these devices. The Apple iPad air -2 is perfect for traveling around and sharing your adventures in almost real time with family and friends. The cell connectivity is great since most campgrounds have wifi but it is so slow with everyone on it. Plus with cell connections you can update on the road assuming the passenger does the updating. Email is a breeze with the cell connectivity. Also it doubles as a GPS with map functions that also show the closest gas/hotel/food/entertainment depending on the app you get. The camera is great as a backup for quick snap shots. The processor is great but the lens is not much (after all how much real glass can you put in that form factor. Games for the kids are amazing since it senses orientation Which allows "steering" with the iPad held in your hands. I see many professional photographers use these to show their wedding photos to sell during the wedding dinner. Yes, with Lightroom, you can have the photos ready before anyone leaves. Realtors do the some thing essentially to give video tours of houses before they go to the place. Great for watching your latest movie or recorded sports event but be prepared to pay for unlimited data from your Internet provider. Bought one for my wife for her birthday. Now I am thinking of one for myself for Christmas.
The new Air is superior to the old models in a number of ways

The new Air is superior to the old models in a number of ways. The camera is better. The Wi-Fi is faster. The processor is more potent. It can read your fingerprint with Touch ID. My personal favorite: the screen throws off less glare. Still not enough to read in direct sunlight, because the screen isn't that bright anyhow, but it's more than enough to keep my reflection from distracting me with narcissistic charm. The iPad Air 2 has the best iPad screen ever made. It's laminated, getting rid of the pesky air gap between the glass surface and the actual display. When you reach out and touch icons, it feels more like you're actually touching them than ever before. And yes, there's less glare. But the 3.1 million pixels underneath that glass are identical to the ones I bought two and half years ago. The beautiful high-res screen is one of the best reasons to buy an iPad.

I bought the Air 2 to replace my iPad 3 which had become maddeningly slow in both operation and communication. The Air 2 has sufficient processor speed and memory for easy use of current apps. Wireless speed in the Air 2 is much improved over the iPad 3. I use the iPad primarily for aviation apps in my airplane. It is the only platform where the full featured aviation apps are available. The cellular version of the iPad is required since the WiFi only version doesn't support GPS location. All of the news and social communication apps plus movies work well on the Air 2. So I use them when traveling since I have the iPad with me. I no longer use the Air 2 much at home since iOS doesn't support a mouse. Productivity apps are a pain to use on the iPad. The iPad is best for consumption. For productivity and music performace I now use my old iPad 3 for printed lyrics and a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 for full size scores. Each tablet has it's place and it's audience. The iPad Air 2 is portable and easy to hold. The Kindle Paperwhite is best for reading books. The side lighting is much easier on the eyes than the back lighting of a tablet. So get the Air 2 for reading email, reading the news, and watching movies. There are also other specialized applications such as aviation for the iPad. The Air 2 has good performance. I rely on it in our airplane. It works well for what it's designed to do.

I have never used Apple products--always Microsoft and Android. I bought this for use with Foreflight (pilot app). OK, but why in the tarnations doesn't Apple include a back button? It seems that every app and every window has a different way to close it or go back. Very non user friendly. Otherwise, great tablet

This IPad replaced an older version for me, but a very strange thing happened a few times. In the middle of reading or typing the screen went blank and the IPad turned itself off suddenly! I don't know what to make of this.
