Wish I had purchased them sooner.

I've needed a pair of boots for a while now. We do a lot of hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, basically a lot of outdoorsy activities where a regular pair of sneakers or work boots wasn't cutting it for me. My family lives in upstate NY where there's a lot of mud, snow and generally cooler temperatures. I live in the south part of the year and spend the other part up north with them. Everyone I know up there has either a pair of Muck or LaCrosse boots or both so when I started looking at boots I knew it was between these two brands. I chose to go with the Mucks in the end because my sister said they are more comfortable and because I fell in love with the Realtree and pink. My only decision at this point was between the Woody PK boots and the regular Woody Max boots that are the same color and style. At a glance these two appear to be the exact same boot. But here are the differences. *The Woody PK boots come with the PK liner. This liner is kind of a moisture wicking liner to protect against evaporative cooling. The regular Woody Max boots have a fleece liner. This is a bit of a heavier liner which helps to maintain warmth. *The top of the Woody PK boots is made from 4 mm neoprene, the regular Woody Max boots have 5 mm neoprene. *The Woody PK boot is considered more of an all season boot, whereas the regular Woody Max boot is considered a cold weather boot. Both of the boots are warm and waterproof. I read somewhere that you should buy boots for the climate where you would be spending the most time in them. While this seems like common sense, it was still difficult for me to make a decision. I spend half the year in mild to hot temperatures and the other half where there could potentially be snow and temperatures below zero. In the end I went with these Woody PKs because although the Woody Max boots might have kept my feet slightly warmer in the winter I think they would have been unbearable to wear in the heat in the summer. I figured I could always throw on an extra pair of socks or some foot warmers if I'm out when it's really cold. Now that I've had these boots for a while I'm really glad that I did purchase them. I've worn them in weather up into the 70s and they never became uncomfortable or felt too warm. I've also worn them in weather into the 30s and my feet stayed warm and dry. I haven't had the opportunity to test them out any higher or lower than that but when I do I will update my review. The boots themselves are very stylish to look at and comfortable to wear. I didn't have to break them in. I had no blisters after wearing them for 8 hours the day I got them, although I probably wouldn't attempt this with super thin socks. They're definitely water proof. When you get them dirty or muddy they are easy to spray clean with the garden hose. I'm 5'5 and they come to about 6 inches below my knee. I typically wear a size 7 in shoes and boots. That is what I ordered my Mucks in and they seem true to size. I feel that a 7 is big enough to be able to wear with an additional pair of heavy socks for colder conditions but not too big to wear with only one pair of plain socks. I really love these boots and have no complaints about them. I only wish I had purchased them sooner. By the way- Both the Woody PK's and the regular Woody Max boots say Woody Max on them.

Cute but runs large
By A. Nelson on Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2018
Depending on the shoe type, I normally wear a 6 1/2 or 7. Knowing that I would be wearing these with thick socks in cold weather through the snow, I opted for the '7- 71/2' size. They are much larger than I thought. I have plenty of room in the foot but not so much that walking is difficult. I was not very happy about how extremely large the upper calf portion of the boot is. They are very gaping around my lower leg; I could easily drop pennies down into my boot and be able to hit my ankle - not that I would really do this, of course. I like a snug boot so this isn't comfortable for me, although it does make it easier to shove the legs of my hunting pants down into. The boots do however keep feet very dry but NOT exceptionally warm. I thought they would be more insulated.
