Just like they used to make

After several failed tries to find a normal mattress pad, this is the winner. Washed very nicely before putting on the bed. Fits the King-size mattress perfectly with lots of side material to tuck neatly underneath. I was worried that the side fabric would be that weak interfacing stuff, but it was regular fabric. All of it smooth to the touch. Just enough padding to be smooth and not feel the mattress pillowing below, but not too much that it's puffy. Just like the good ol' mattress pads that they used to make and can't find anymore. Most important for fragrance-allergy sufferers like me: No smell.

Hold in heat

I never leave reviews but feel like I have to for this one. The mattress pad holds in heat and when paired with their brand sheets and duvet cover it is horribly hot. I tried to use this at our house rental in the mountains (where is it always cool or cold) and figured I would buy an extra set for our home. They are just horribly hot even when you keep the temperature down. I had to get rid of the sheets for a rental which was a waste of money. Super bummed since they were fairly soft and a great price.
