Reef Men's Sandals

I bought these after reading rave reviews about the comfort and knowing the quality of the brand. I wear a 9wide shoe and ultimately purchased both a size 9 and a size 10 to see which would work. The size 9 was so uncomfortably tight that it left marks on the top of my foot where the straps were. The footbed was the right size and the comfort of the bottom was great, but the tightness of the straps made these unwearable for me. I started a return and purchased the size 10 thinking it would be better fitting. While the size 10 was a great improvement - the strap fit perfectly and they were very, very comfortable overall - the footbed was way too big for someone who would wear a size 9, and so it felt like I was wearing snow shoes or scuba flippers - just way too big and bulky, which would make wearing them cumbersome and ultimately they would get relegated to the closet and never worn. That all having been said, if you wear a wide width, I hate to say it but don't bother with these. Unfortunately you will end up going through the same process of trying the next size up, and then ultimately returning them both. One review mentioned filing the footbed down a bit by where the straps go through to provide some more room, but I don't see how damaging them will contribute to any degree of longevity, and it goes without saying that trimming them will ultimately remove any possibility for you to return them. Really a shame since they were so comfortable (in size 10) that there is not even a half size to afford some balance.
