These filters are great. They are made from rapid-growing bamboo, hence can be said to be eco-friendly. That's great. They are also stronger than conventional paper filters, so when you lift them out of the basket when they're full of soggy coffee grounds to put them in your compost, they never tear or break open. The only downside is that they tend to be more expensive (and highly variable in price depending on provider), so it pays to shop around. If more people switched to these as I recommend, the price will come down- so get on board all you tree huggers!
