I love these boots since they're a classic and so cute

I love these boots since they're a classic and so cute! the only issue I have with them is that since they only do full sized, I can never get it right. I'm usually a 9.5. If I do a 10, my feet fit in terms of length, but they swim in the boots in terms of width. It's pretty big around my calves and ankles (I have think feet and calves, though). They look disproportionate. If I get the 9, they fit perfectly all around and look perfectly proportionate to my body, but my toes are snug at the end, which isn't good with socks. Even though though I have this issue, it's never deterred me from getting the boots since I like their style too much!!! Another issue is the buckle on the side. They are impossible to buckle and it seems pretty pointless. The rubber makes it hard to fold over the flap and buckle. I still recommend hunter boots, though since they're of the best quality around! I just wish they had half sizes and better buckles!

Really hard to find a good fit!
By Leila on Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2018
I’ve had no luck finding a good fit with Hunter boots. I am a true 9.5 B, but with reviews about sizing being all over the place, I ordered the 9 and the 10 to see which worked for me. I found they definitely need the addition of an insole with some cushioning and arch support, which worked fine in the 9, except the back of the boot kept hitting up against my calves, which was painful even though I had skinny jeans or leggings tucked into them. When I added the Hunter boot sock in addition to the insole it resolved this problem, but now the 9’s were much too tight. Also, I found the 9’s hard to remove from my feet. Next I added the insole and boot sock to the 10’s with skinny jeans tucked into them. The boot sock prevented the back of the boot from hitting against my calf, but there was still a bit too much room/slippage, so I added a thin sock as well to achieve a good fit. The problem is that we get quite a bit of rain in coastal South Carolina during the spring, and I don’t want to wear all of these extra sock layers in warmer weather. I may keep them for rainy winter days when gets down to 45-50, but a rainy 80 degree day in April would be torture with the added socks. Why can’t Hunter and other wellie manufacturers make boots in half sizes?!?
