Great overall home NAS with better than expected transfer speeds
By KAEAM on Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2014
I purchased the 2 TB version and love it, instant setup quiet operation and its perfect with a RAID 1 already enabled. First start-up only took about 2 min and all it took from there was an install from the provided disk and few selections for its initial setup. It has a lot more options that I expected and is a heck of a value loaded with two drives.Hard drives installed: (2) TOSHIBA DT01ACA100 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3Transfer Speeds (GB wired network tested with Lan Speed Test each packet size listed, 10 packets used)1 Mb Upload - Average 391 Mbps / Max 434 Mbps1 Mb Download - Average 434 Mbps / Max 464 Mbps10 Mb Upload - Average 364 Mbps / Max 407 Mbps10 Mb Download - Average 351 Mbps / Max 395 Mbps1 GB Upload - Average 233 Mbps / Max 327 Mbps1 GB Download - Average 350 Mbps / Max 355 Mbps9 GB Upload - Average 245 Mbps / Max 245 Mbps9 GB Download - Average 350 Mbps / Max 350 Mbps

Worked at first, then nothing.
By raminduction on Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2019
I read all the reviews, especially the negative ones. Still, thought I'd give it a try, given my network experience level. Product arrived on time in excellent condition. The instructions were easy to follow, hook-up was a snap. Software installed without a glitch. Was able to add folders, etc. Interestingly enough, the other workstations on my network "saw" the device immediately, without software., and could access it. The NAS showed up as a network item just like a PC. Unfortunately, the workstation the software was installed on could NOT access the created files and folders (fortunately, NO DATA had been transferred to the device). Additionally, the workstation the software was on showed the device as a "Media device", and NOT as a network device. Spent hours troubleshooting the device, using the factory website, internet forums, etc., and NOTHING solved the problem. Worked until after no o'clock in the morning & gave up. Figured a fresh start in the morning with fresh coffee would work out. Hahahahahaha! Now, the other PCs on the network showed the device as a "Media device" and couldn't access it; all it showed was some LAME media streaming crapola, just as the workstation with the software on it. Further internet research came up empty; plenty of people talking out their behinds, but no serious solutions. Spent more than enough time on this device, and have returned it. NOT WORTH WASTING MY TIME ON. Unless you have a magic wand or know the secret to these devices, I wouldn't take a chance on one. It was almost like Google, Facebook, and twitter locking out opinions that don't fit their narrative; it's like Mr. Bill has his OSs deny access to devices he doesn't like.
