2 years later, we bought another one

We do a lot of home cooking with Dutch ovens. We've gone through a half-dozen non-stick versions over the years. The Gibson Home was a pleasant surprise. The shape has a little higher sides than most Dutch ovens, but my wife and I really like this pot. We're being careful with it, but so far the non-stick has been better than any Teflon dutch oven we've owned. Every other non-stick Dutch oven we've owned, including the more famous brands like Calphalon scratched relatively easily with normal use. Knowing how damaging dishwashers are to non-stick surfaces we've kept to hand-washing the Gibson, which is no problem because absolutely nothing sticks. It still looks brand new after a dozen uses. The bottom exterior does show some heat marks from the burner, but the sides still look new and the interior is perfect. Although the aluminum is a little thin, it spreads heat evenly, no hot spots. It's not a high end pot, but frankly, it performs better than many Dutch ovens I've owned. We also have a 7-quart stainless that we like, but we tend to reach for the Gibson more often. I don't think you can go wrong with this pot.Update: I bought this Dec 23, 2017. I only came back here to review the max temp for the oven. Two years later and after a lot of use the interior of the pan is still perfect. I use it all the time for making spaghetti sauce, sauteing onions and garlic first. The non-stick interior is still like new and it has been used a couple of times a week. I have been careful to only use plastic utensils and it's only been in the dishwasher a couple of times (I usually hand wash), but even so, I've never had a "ceramic" non-stick that has held up as well. It cooks very evenly too.Update 6/5/21: It became pitted and we threw it out, but my wife liked the pan so much she wanted another one. So that's we did, we bought the same pan again. That's the first time we ever did that. We have this 5 quart Gibson Home Dutch oven and a stainless 5 quart Dutch oven. Which pan we use depends on what we're cooking. It's good to have options.

Quality getting worse

My first one last 18 month before the scrambled eggs stick at the bottom. The second one last 12 months. But the current one last only 8 months. Do the math yourself
