Unbelievably, even after 30 + years of cooking for family, I have never purchased a dutch oven pot. I cannot believe that I went so long without one. They are so versatile! You can cook on the stove top and also put it in the oven. The first thing I made was one-pot spaghetti bolognese. It was so easy! Noodles cooked in there as well, so only one pan to clean up. I then purchased a cook book and realized how many things you can cook in it from appetizers to desserts. I am very intrigued by the idea of making bread in the pot in the oven. It is great for soups and stews as well. It is a great alternative if I don't want to pull out my slow cooker. I probably use the dutch oven at least twice a week in my rotation of slow cooker and instant pot. My husband does clean up, and it has cleaned nicely by hand or in the dishwasher. I would be very careful to use silicone or wooden utensils with it so that you don't get scratches on the non-stick interior. This is very solid and of good quality, so I would recommend it over a more expensive option if you are a first-time user or want to add a second pot to your collection. I will probably eventually purchase a ceramic model now that I know how useful and versatile it is.
