Not Just For Coca Cola Lovin Soccer Fans, But Mainly :)

This may look like a niche item specific for a Coca Cola loving soccer fan, but anyone that wants a few beverages chilled and handy could be appreciative. It's cute, easy to handle and fill, and cools five cans quickly. While it is specifically designed to hold cans, it'll handle anything that fits and needs chilled. I could finagle a bagged lunch and two pint plastic bottles of soda in it, if pressed. A better design, in my opinion, would have been if it held a whole six pack, instead of five cans, but that's probably just picky on my part. All in all, a home run! Oh, wait..

A soccer ball AND a cooler

I really enjoyed this cooler! It's cute and handy to have around the house, especially for a gathering. You can easily have drinks cold and ready to go. I wish it had an adapter for the car, that would be awesome if you were to go on a road trip. I will stick to my regular coolers in the car, I guess. My drinks that I had in the soccer ball got very cold. My husband and I both liked the temperature. Really nifty product!
Good for a coca cola/soccer fan

This is a very neat concept for a soccer fan. This cooler is just about the size of a real soccer ball standing on a base. It has space for 5 soda cans. The ‘lid’ has a push button that serves as a handle. The lid is not fastened to anything; it sits like a lid on a pot. This cooler is built more like a fridge, there isn’t an on/off button - the cord needs to be plugged/unplugged to turn the fridge on/off. Inside the soccer ball, the bottom (where the cans sit) gets chilled, and also part of the wall gets chilled - about two inches from the bottom up. The rest only maintains the temperature. It took me about 12 hours to get all 5 cans of soda chilled from room temperature (72-75 deg F) to around 45 deg F. If the fridge is turned off, the beverages get warm in less than an hour. The manufacturer states that this cooler would chill beverages 35 deg F below actual room temperature, for me, the temperature dropped about 30 degrees only. I personally prefer colder beverages - around 35 degrees rather than 45 but that’s a personal choice. Since this item operates like a mini fridge, it can stay connected 24/7 as long as the motor is kept clean and there is some air circulating under the surface – the vent is normally at 90 degrees while the fridge operates but could get pretty hot if the soccer ball stands on a tight space.
It keeps soda cool (not cold) and is "cute", though may not be very practical

Kids were definitely curious when this showed up at the door. It's a cute item to give as a gift or have sitting in your office cubicle. Though if you put it in your cube, you maybe finding co-workers coming around more often to snag a nice cool (not cold) soda from you instead of actually wanting to talk to you for you. It's actually pretty light, so don't accidentally drop it or drop anything on it. The lid has a pop-up handle so you can lift it off with ease. It gets cold pretty fast. The space is small and tight. My main annoyance (not really a complaint) is that you buy sodas in 6, 12 or 24 packs...this only holds five. Need to find someplace to store can #6 until a spot opens up. The Coca Cola Soccer Ball is powered by 110V AC adapter. That tells me if you have or buy separate equipment you could run this thing at the campsite, tailgate party or in your car. Thus my second annoyance is realistically. . . camping and tailgate parties mean people bring large ice chests with drinks instead of a decorative soccer ball for only five cans. Thus the only practical use for this item mean road trip (car adapter not included) or leave it in your cubicle at work. When If first saw this I immediately thought of my old boss who is always looking to keep a can of soda cold. If I needed to buy a gift for someone like that, this would work. It's a novelty item, when you don't know what else to give someone. Don't forget you don't need to only use this with soda (ignoring the Coca Cola branding on the item). There are lots of 12oz can drinks out there from coconut water to juices. **UPDATE 10/12/14** I've used this maybe three times since I got it. I just pulled it out for a party and put some drinks in it. Nothing ever got cold...only cool. Reduced the rating down a star and changed some wording on the original review as the drinks just aren't cold.
Cute but Annoying

This Coca Cola Soccer Ball mini-fridge is attractive and cools five cans of soda quickly to approximately 30-35 degrees below ambient temperature. If you are or know a soda loving soccer fan this is the perfect niche gift. For the rest of us, it's a wee bit annoying. I suppose it's nit-picking to complain about it only holding five cans out of a six-pack, but if it was the tiniest bit bigger, the sixth would fit easily. And my living room is about 75 degrees in summer, which means if I'm lucky the drinks will get down to an almost-cold-enough 40 degrees, though so far they've only hit 45. I prefer soda a good 10 degrees colder. My husband likes them this temperature, though, so he's happy. But the big annoyance is that this fridge is advertised to be used in the car, but it doesn't come with an adapter. Since we really wanted to take this with us on road trips and camp-outs, we were disappointed, so we looked up adapters on Amazon and found them priced from about $15 to $25, with the Koolatron adapter costing a full $30. This all rubs me the wrong way. Surely a simple adapter could have been included in the $69 price. Or take it up $5 and include something basic I can use to plug it in for road trips. (After seeing the prices, we decided to stick to our ice chest, and chill not only soda but our water bottles as well.) On the bright side, this is a great little office fridge - though I would be inclined to choose something slightly bigger for the same price so I could toss a sandwich in, too. (Which you actually could do with this if you only added a couple of sodas.) I can also see it being handy when kids have sleepovers and out on the deck, as long as you have an outlet within reach. But brightest of all, it's a great gift for a soccer fan who has everything. There's nothing wrong with it. It's great for what it is. It's just a little annoying.
Eye-Catching Soccer Ball Cooler

Just in time for the 2014 World Cup, this fun little cooler is a great way to keep your favorite canned beverages nice and chilly. Just about the size of a soccer ball, this electric cooler holds up to 5 cans. Simply plug in, and it cools the contents rapidly to 34-degrees. With that said, I found it odd that one of the selling points of this cooler is that is can run off your car's lighter or electric access port, but they don't provide a car adapter or car cord with the cooler? I can see where this may be handy at the drive-in, or on long road trips with the kids, you'll have to utilize a power cord you already own, or purchase one. I do like the look of the cooler, and it does cool very rapidly, but it is also quite small holding only 5 standard cans means you may be able to fit 2-3 pint cans in here, and forget storing any bottles, there simply isn't room. I doubt that even a Red Bull type can could fit in the cooler. Those complaints aside, I will probably use this cooler quite often this summer. Simply plug into an outlet in the diining room and run the cord out a window and onto my deck, it will save me a few trips into the kitchen and I won't have to fool around with bags of ice.
