Outstanding Watch!
By WillyOne on Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2017
I recently purchased the Invicta Model: 22970 (wrote an Amazon review) when I came across it at my local Costco store. It's the exact same watch as this 17203 except all metal components, including the bezel, are silver and it has a beautiful blue face with all white graphics. However before purchasing the 22970, I looked on Amazon to see what information might be available. In doing so I came across this 17203 and just had to get it. The 22970 filled the niche in my collection for a silver bracelet, blue faced watch. I'd been looking for a long time but hadn't come across "the one" with the right blue, right design, etc. until I saw the 22970 at Costco. It's also less "standoutish" and makes a great everyday watch for that reason. However this 17203 is not as "standoutish" as I thought it would be. It's a beautiful big, heavy watch which I love, just like the 22970, and they both have a unique aviator design. In fact this line of aviators doesn't look like any other watch I've ever seen. No numeric markings other than the 10, 20, 40 & 50, two dials that perfectly resemble aircraft instrumentation gauges, uniquely shaped date and minute windows and the fact it looks like Invicta sat a large round watch into a sculpted base. The colors used on the face, and how they're used is outstanding, and I still get a beautiful blue face.To give some idea of what I think of Invicta watches, the 22970 was my first Invicta, however I now own a total of four. I have the 22970, this 17203, a blue faced left handed I-Force and a blue and gold faced Pro Diver. Another unique fact is the chronometer function differs with each. Pressing the top pusher on the two aviators starts the chronometer, however the 1/10th second hand only rotates during the first minute then stops, however it continues keeping track. Pressing the top pusher a second time stops the chronometer and, at that point, the 1/10th second hand will advance to whatever the reading is. On the I-Force, pressing the bottom pusher starts and stops the chronometer however the 1/10th second hand doesn't stop after a minute. And with the Pro Diver, the large second hand doesn't work for keeping time, the small second dial does that. The large second hand is used for the chronometer function only and, again, the chronometer starts and stops using the top pusher. This 17203 Aviator is a beautiful timepiece. Invicta's use of color with this watch is fantastic, as you can see from the photos, however it's the first watch I've owned that uses rose gold and it really is much more subtle than yellow gold. In fact I think this watch could also serve as a daily wearer if someone was so inclined. Just as an FYI, I have a 7" circumference wrist and had to remove 5 links to get the bracelet to fit. I love the size and weight of this watch and, based on reviews I've read for various Invicta styles, I expect it to give good service for years to come. One last thing, if you're uncomfortable with strangers commenting on your watches, I wouldn't get this one because I've received at least one comment every time I've worn it.

Awesome looking watch, but concerned about quality
By Chris on Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2022
I purchased this watch in September, 2020 and right out of the box, I loved it! The case is larger, which is what I wanted, and it has some weight to it. I was a little disappointed that the hands are a little difficult to see, but after awhile, you get used to it and they are easier to see. Part of that disappointment was that the ad description says that it has "Luminous hands," which normally means there is glow-in-the-dark material added that lets you see it in the dark. I placed it in direct sunlight for a few hours and then took it into a darkened room, and no glowing. I contacted Invicta directly and they denied that the hands had luminous material, despite what the ad said then and still says 1 1/2 years later. The watch, though, looks stunning, and I have had many, many positive comments on it.Recently, the watch stopped working and when I looked, I noticed that the crown was missing. I have no idea where it is, but even if I did, I don't think it could be reattached to make it work again. I also noticed that the interior bezel appeared to be moving slowly...if you look at my picture attached, you'll see that the red arrows marking directions are misaligned, and they are off...north is pointing to the right, where east should be. This is inside the face and cannot be turned by the operator, so it looks like something inside came loose somewhere along the way. I have no idea if this can be fixed without opening up the watch.Time to get a new watch. Looking through the various brands on Amazon, there are the cheapos, the upper level, and brands I have never heard of. Upper level is out of my range, didn't want the cheapos, and not interested in going with a brand I've never heard of. Plus, the 48-50 mm sized cases appear to be limited in availability.Looked at the Invictas again, and most reviews are positive. However, I did see a few that had the same issues I did, with one reviewer talking about the entire crystal and face coming off when they went to shake hands with a client. Made me wary, but given the lack of other quality watches with what I was looking for (case size, aviator style), I decided to give this Invicta one more try. Note that this style is available in several color options, but this one really stands out and so I just bought another one to replace the failed one.INVICTA: PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT TAKE MY LOYALTY FOR GRANTED. IF THIS ONE ALSO FAILS, I WILL CROSS INVICTA OFF MY PURCHASE LIST FOREVER AND LET EVERYONE I KNOW WHY.
