Accuracy track record
By Cookeville on Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2019
Looking at all the reviews, I was looking for false negatives (which would be bad) and saw none. However, I did see a number of true positives which reviewers praise highly and rightly so! Also, I also saw but a few false positives which appears to be no more frequent than a highly-advertised fecal test that requires a doctor's visit and a prescription. I recently received the doctor's visit version pending the home sample collection & ship thing. The prescription version booklet stated a 13% false positive rate and boasted a 96% true positives rate which the FIT claims an accuracy of 97%. So the prescription version appears to be no better statistically than the FIT and costs but a fraction of the time and expense. Comparing convenience, the FIT test is a very simple do-it-all-at-home procedure while the prescription version has to be shipped via UPS to a lab... and you have to collect & package more poop-- both a small tube sample along with a full t*rd in a larger can, and then pour some preservative over the t*rd before capping the can. The FIT test, on the other hand is much simpler faster. Conclusion: the FIT is a great test at an incredible value. Furthermore, the price, speed, and convenience lends itself to more frequent testings with the FIT for even greater detection vigilance. With the more expensive prescription product, on the other hand, you are more likely to procrastinate, performing the test less frequently thus increasing the risk of un-detection.

Faint pink line???
By miniartist on Reviewed in the United States on June 4, 2015
I realize now that my " review" was more of a comment......mainly because I'm confused as to the result...but I've ordered more kits, Pinnacle......but hopefully someone can help dispel fears before the new kits arrive. It seems like I'm not the only one who got a nearly inperceptable faint pink line next to the "T". One actually has to turn it towards and away from the light to see it.....I wonder, like others ...is this a flaw in the process or truely a " positive" result? Here is my original comment "I too had the dimmest of lines at T. So dim my wife couldn't see it...and I questioned whether it was there at all several times ( bright light would make it disappear) but enhancing it in photoshop there is indeed a " line" there...not exactly evident to the naked eye. Or are these extremely dim lines from some chemical there that might turn darker if there was blood present. I sure wish Pinnacle Labs would clarify."
