One of the best belts ever!!!
By jpizano on Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2025
I have had this belt for a while and my peers also use it. This belt hasn’t needed keepers because I don’t carry a lot on it. This belt is so stable and great for running. It keeps your gear and pants in place. Easily adjustable and the buckle is the best I’ve used. Something about the ease of clipping it without having to press together is great. I highly recommend this!!! Buy it and you won’t regret it.

Get your own belt keepers.

I absolutely love this belt. I didn't realize how heavy my old Bianchi belt was until I picked it up after picking up this one. It is much more light weight and flexible, which is what I was looking for since I promoted to a position that has me at a desk most of the time. BUT, I absolutely HATE the belt keepers that came with this belt. The snaps are so difficult to snap and unsnap that it almost requires a second person, and there's more velcro surrounding the snaps which makes them tough to get undone. So hopefully you don't find yourself running late for work or in a bathroom emergency. At the end of my shift, the last thing I want to do when I walk in the door is spend any more time than necessary struggling to take off my belt because I can't get the snaps undone. I'll probably end up having to by new keepers from somewhere else since I got rid of my old ones already.

Very nice duty belt.

This duty belt is nice, I've worn it almost every day for nearly a year with minimal wear and tear. The inner belt is comfortable and I often wear it as my belt when off the clock The two belt system is super convenient and the velcro is strong enough to stay in place with handcuffs, flashlight, baton, and radio all hanging off and it comes with snap on belt stays if needed. I use them on the outer belt to keep equipment from wandering too far from where I need them though I think I could get away without them. Overall, very satisfied with this purchase and do recommend it.
5 stars from me

This belt is amazing quality. I’ve had it for about a year now and I haven’t had any problems since. This truly is quite the belt. It’s my first time buying a duty belt and I didn’t know what to expect. I’m very impressed with the quality and the torture I have put it through. I tend to carry a little more than I probably should and it handles it pretty well. I would definitely recommend this belt to friends. Hope this helps. Stay safe! *Update as of Jan. 2019 - I’ve put this belt through a lot in a short amount of time. This belt has a Velcro liner on the inner part of the belt and it hasn’t let me down yet. There is absolutely no sliding of this belt once you have the belt and belt keepers on. The Velcro is very strong and the belt is pretty good quality for $50. I thought I’d have problems with the plastic, vertical sliding buckle and I haven’t. The buckle is incredibly strong and well made. If you’re looking for a well made nylon belt, look no further. ** Update as of Dec. 2021: I have recently retired this belt for a Bianchi belt (it didn’t break I just needed something else). This belt lasts me probably 3-4 years with very little wear and tear. Very strong and the buckle never gave me any issues. It’s a good belt and would recommend. I do feel like this belt is a little smaller than the 2inch width it’s advertised as.
The new belt buckle Style seems to work well

The belt is very rigid and will do well as a duty belt. I am 5-11 185 lb and wear a 34 in waist in pants and the belt fitwell. It comes as a complete package interior belt exterior belt and 4 Keepers which is very nice. You may need to buy additional Keepers depending on your preference. I personally like the keepers that came with it the velcro on the inside and the strength it took to open and close them was not an issue for myself. I think the best option with this belt is its buckle it is much smaller than the traditional buckles and I like the retention and the way it attaches to each other vs the older style buckles. Only time will tell for its durability.

Here's my honest review for my fellow LEOs. Overall, I would recommend this belt for the price. I wouldn't pay more than what they're charging for it though. I'm a 32" waist, and the medium fits me good. What people fail to mention is that the belt is ADJUSTABLE. I did have to adjust the belt about an inch or two since I have so much equipment on my belt. Both ends can adjust if you need to adjust it quite a bit. You just need to undo the Velcro to move/Shift the buckle pieces. My only other complaint about this belt is that I probably would have been better off with their 2.25in wide belt because my equipment has that tiny bit of room to move up and down, which also causes all my equipment to shift to one side when I pick the belt up since my equipment isn't snug on the belt. But it's nothing that a little shifting after I put the belt on can't fix, which only takes seconds. I would give it a 5 star review, but I'm not a huge fan of the inner belt as compared to the one I was issued during training. Also, I thought the buckle was metal, but it is plastic. But the plastic seems pretty sturdy. Wish it clarified that somewhere, unless I missed it. The keepers it comes with are ok. They're nothing special. They're pretty easy to put on. Overall, it's comfortable to wear to work so far and I believe it's going to last a while.
Great Duty Belt (On the big side)

I love this duty belt, it has a good mix of flexibility and rigidity. It's solid enough to stay in place with or without the velcro belt, yet it's not so stiff that it's uncomfortable. Holds everything secure and in the exact spot where I put it, yet if I want to move something (cuffs, key rings, spray, etc.) I can just inch it forward or back. As other reviews have stated, these seem to run on the large size. I weigh 220 lbs and generally wear a 36-38" in jeans. I ordered the medium size and it fits. I think the large would fit as well b/c the medium only leaves me a couple inches on each end to fold over through the buckle and secure with velcro, but it's not uncomfortable at all. If I were to gain any inches though I would have to move up to the large. I haven't worn a medium anything since my early 20's which was roughly 20 years ago so this was a shock to me. Reading the reviews I took the chance and went for the medium and it was a good choice, but as I said the large would fit fine as well.
SO lightweight, better than Bianchi even!

The main thing I noticed was this belt is super light when compared to Bianchi! Now I normally always get Bianchi and Bianchi is a great brand but nothing compares to 5.11 and this belt is no exception! I was very impressed with this belt and the belt keeps not only has a solid snap that you can tell by the quality they won't wear down and start popping open but they also have velcro on them so it's a sure deal they are staying secure! One minor drawback is the belt is a bit flimsy and not as rigid as other duty belts but the quality and sturdiness far surpass any other duty belt out there! Worth every dollar spent!

I have went through a couple different brand duty belts and the 511 is definitely one of the more premium ones. If you're looking for a nice premium duty belt that will last you for years I definitely recommend the 511.

Belt was waaaay too big. UPDATED

Size Medium Actual Measurements: Inner Belt: 43.25" (maximum, will be wrapped smaller to secure with velcro overlap) Outer Belt: 39.25" (minimum, can be sized larger, with about 11" of overlap, some of which must be used to wrap around each buckle and secure it, so you don't actually have 11" more inches. Belt shipped with a 5.5" overlap around each buckle, which again, can't be made smaller due to a stiffer center section.) For reference, I can squeeze in to 30" W pants, 31" is comfortable, 32" if I'm carrying IWB. My actual belt measurement, as measured from the end of the leather (not including buckle) to the hole in the belt that I use is 33". My actual measurement over my belt is 36". I ordered a Medium (supposedly 32-34"), which ended up being waaay too big. The outer belt actual measurement was 39.25", and can not be sized any smaller (it is possible to make that longer though, but not smaller). For me, I needed this to be about 36". The inner belt fit fine, as it has plenty of flexibility to get bigger/smaller, though I did have lots of overlap. Actual inner belt measurement: 43.25". I just exchanged for a Small. I'll update my review once I get the Small in the mail, and post actual sizes for that, to hopefully help someone else get the right size the first time. UPDATE 5/02/2017 The smallest the Small can go is 36.25" actual, and the largest it can go is 39.5" actual. Mind you, this is an over-the-belt measurement, which will be larger than your through-the-loops measurement. I don't know why belt manufacturers don't advertise actual min/max measurements, forcing us to exchange sizes until someone posts real numbers in the reviews!?
