The Pinnacle of Vibram Technology
By Strange on Reviewed in the United States on November 11, 2014
If you are a fan of Vibram Five Fingers, then you will know what you are getting here. Shoes with separate toe sockets? Check. Comfy fit? Check. Strong and sturdy yet flexible sole? Check and check. The hemp material feels fantastic against the skin of the feet, and the design is nice and casual, in contrast with the rather crazy colors that adorn other Vibram shoes.BUT, these are the best Vibrams to me for one major reason above all others, and that is because of the anti-microbial sock liner stitched into the shoe itself. If you are a fan of Vibrams, then you know The Funk. That gnarly, all-encompassing face-punch of a smell that always hits your nostrils as soon as the shoes come off from a day's use. Eesh, I've taken off a new pair of Vibram shoes after a day of use only to be sidewinded by that nose-kicking aroma. These babies? No Funk. Not even a hint. Granted, I've only had the shoes for about a day, so I will adjust this review accordingly after I have spent more time with them, but the Vibram Funk is something that I have always dealt with, from the very first day I ever took off my first pair of Vibrams after only walking around town.My feet feel amazing in them, and they don't smell like crap after a long day's work. I don't think I could ever purchase another pair of Vibrams without the same anti-microbial technology.EDIT #13rd day of use - Still awesome, feet still don't smell, and the shoes themselves still have no Funk. Stuffed my nose in em' after a long workout, and got a whiff of only slightly brand new shoe, which is amazing to me. After about an hour, the shoes had no smell whatsoever, aside from the hemp, which is pleasant. How is it that I am the first to review this shoe on Amazon?! If you love Vibrams, you NEED these shoes. Everything you want from Five Fingers, yet without the one glaring flaw in all Vibrams (so far). I'll be taking these feet gloves on a trip to Canada as well as around the Hawaiian Islands, so I'll definitely update this review again after putting these suckers through their paces.EDIT #2Back from a super cold trip to Vancouver, and a lovely cruise through the Hawaiian Islands, and I can safely say that these shoes truly are all that and a bag of BBQ chips. In Vancouver, with some long toe socks (I got some funky colored pairs from a local Japanese goods store here in Honolulu, not sure where else you'll be able to find them) my feet kept nice and toasty during a particularly cold autumn, which I am definitely not used to as an island boy. On the Hawaiian cruise, the solid soles of the shoes allowed me to easily grip the floor of the ship during particularly choppy seas, and shore excursions were a breeze, going from casual sauntering round' town to full-blown hikes up trails by Waimea Canyon on Kauai. The shoes still don't stink. Occasional nose in sole motion will find a scent not unlike any normal shoe, and that's usually gone after a few hours of airing out. Can't ask for more than that in a Vibram. I'll be getting another pair in black, if they can finally get blacks in sizes for men.EDIT #3I haven't so much as looked at my other pairs of Vibrams. These shoes are so casual and all-purpose I can't imagine ever getting anything else that could top them. These are my favorite skateboarding shoes (I use a Carver skateboard), these are my favorite hiking shoes, these are my favorite kung fu shoes, these are my favorite beach shoes... these are my favorite shoes, period.Hell, they're even amazing slip-ons! Just got to run out the door real quick to grab something from the market? You don't even need to bend down to put these bad boys on; slip em' between your toes and shoot out the door.As for the smell, there is definitely a whiff of used shoe smell nowadays (I've had them for just over 6-8 months now) but that's to be expected from ANY shoe, really. If I compare the smell from these shoes to my old Vibrams, it's basically night and day; or living room to men's locker room, for a better analogy.I will never buy any Vibrams aside from another pair of CVT-Hemps. They haven't come out with them in black for men, although the khaki is new. Definitely gonna pick up a pair of those.

Runs a bit small in the width
By D. Burchett on Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2018
A well made canvas shoe with no gapping or fraying between cloth and rubber sole. The canvas has very little give and the shoes may run a bit tight in the width. Recommend buying a size larger if you have wide feet or if you plan to wear socks with them.
