Nickel Plated Knitting Needle Set

The set comes with two tightening keys and enough cable end caps for each cable included in the set, needle tip US sizes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10.5 and 11. Knit Picks does not make interchangeable needles smaller than US 4. You get two cables each in 24" and 32". All of this is bundled in a reasonably sturdy clear vinyl case that has a single snapped pouch for the needle tips (dividers for each size) on one side and two snapped pouches for cables and accessories on the other side. Everything is a very tight fit and if I weren't physically unable to use my sewing machine right now, I'd have already made a new case.I use the needles daily and they have remained smooth without signs of wear, but the tip thread quality is inconsistent, with several tips bordering on defective due to threading. Not only are the threads inconsistent from tip to tip, but even as you screw a tip onto a cord. I thought when I first bought the set some of this might just be shavings from manufacture, but after almost a year of use, none of the sticky tips have gotten easier to screw or unscrew. I made sure to try different cords, and even tried all the tips with a Knitter's Pride cord as well with the same result. As far as the cords in this set, after 10 months of use they kink and get permanent curls no matter how I store them, and even having one in a project overnight makes the cord almost unmanageable.I have to compare these to Knitter's Pride Nova Platina interchangeables because I think they're the most similar product available. Since Knit Picks interchangeables only go down to US 4, I purchased Nova Platina US 3 and US 2.5 pairs of tips which worked with the Knit Picks cords I already had and after that, a few Knitter's Pride replacement interchangeable needle cords. The difference in quality was very noticeable. The Nova Platina tips were smooth to screw on to my Knitter's Pride and Knit Picks cords, and the Knitter's Pride cords don't fight me. Yes, Knitter's Pride is more expensive, but if I'm going to spend the money, I would rather spend it on something with consistent quality. This kit was fine for getting the tips but I've heard a lot of folks having problems with Knit Picks not standing by the product when it was purchased by Amazon. Because of the inconsistent quality in the first place and the experience other customers have had, I'm not confident Knit Picks would have made it right.
