My furnace is back in action!
By Eddie B. on Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2020
I'm a new home owner of a very old 100+ year old house of my family's. This home had a gas furnace put in about 20~ years ago, a "Conquest 80" unit. A few weeks ago (conveniently on a cold fall day), the furnace started blowing cold air. Educating myself on furnaces on the web and YouTube, I discovered the gas wasn't igniting, and found that the igniter wasn't turning cherry red. I did the logical thing of replacing the igniter first. That didn't seem to solve the problem. I felt I was getting in a little over my head, so I called an HVAC person to come diagnose it. He told me the voltages were low (from the board). This guy was a bit difficult to work with, and also never called me back about actually fixing the furnace nor giving me an estimate. I got very frustrated on that route, and being an IT person as well as a DIY'er with home projects, I decided to take this one on myself. I researched replacing boards yourself and it is a very easy job. It requires no special skills nor tools other than a screwdriver and optional needle nose pliers. I took several photos of the board, google'd the serial numbers, and found this replacement on Amazon. I bought this board, it arrived quickly and I reconnected everything in the same fashion as it was beforehand. It only took me 10 minutes and in no time, I had a functioning furnace again! It's run a few times today and it just feels good to have heat again in my home! If you got a little confidence, this is a super simple DIY job that will save you hundreds of dollars vs. hiring someone to do the same thing. It's as easy as replacing a computer motherboard, plug and play operation. And the board is a likely culprit of problems happening in your furnace if you've tried replacing other parts like I have. Great product and seller.

Order control board in February. It stopped working in July. Waste of money.
