This dish's bottom is uneven. Thicker in places. Thinner in others. I've used Pyrex for decades, yet keep reading about Pyrex exploding or cracking during use. Fiddlesticks, I said, and ordered an 8x8 for brownies. THIS dish is NOT the quality I'm used to from Pyrex. Am wondering if the rippling and thickness variations across the bottom inside of the dish may contribute to its proclivity to crack.. ?? I am going to use it and will get back to yall.

I have had Pyrex as part of my kitchen since I was a youth. The pieces last because they are well-made. I had always had junk 9 x 9s—the metal variety found at Walmart or even the disposable kind at the grocery, so I treated myself. I love this baking pan!! It’s a real classic

A bit thinner than my older ones - but that's ok - it works just as well, plus it does make it easier to lift from the oven. And it cleans just as easy as the older ones. I'm not sure why I never bought this size before. It is ideal for smaller portions!
