Onkyo 6.1CH 3D Slim Surround TV Speaker System

The product was easy to connect and has worked perfectly so far (only had it for a week). The sound is so much better than the TV speakers (Sony 55" DLP). The sound box also does a good job equalizing the sound of movies and commercials (as advertised) which was one of the main reasons we purchase the sound. As stated by others, if you expect this to sound like a true surround sound system, you are kidding yourself. It attempts to emulate surround sound and does a decent job, but you won't be looking over your shoulder looking where the sound is coming from. This system could fill a very large room with sound easily. My living rm is small at 22x13 and I only have the volume at about 15% when watching TV and can hear it easily from the opposite end of the room. I can turn up the volume to about 30% and hear if easily in another room as well. I did not have to program my Direct TV remote for the volume control and mute to work. The only issue I have is sometimes it will turn off when I turn the TV and Genie off and sometimes it won't. Same is true for turning them on. Not a big deal and it is a bonus if when it works. I really only cared about the volume and mute function. Don't forget to disable your TV speakers as the volume function did not work (with the Direct TV remote) until I disabled the TV speakers (actually I changed the setting to use an outside source for sound). The Bluetooth works great as well and was easy to pair with my IPhone. The only thing I wish it had were more choices for the different listening modes (only 3 DSP mode settings) or the ability to tweak the sound with an equalizer or control the sound through a phone app. Appears that it would be easy to do since it has bluetooth. All in all I can't imagine a better sounding system for the price (purchased as "Deal of the Day").
