Over The Door Hook Rack

Upon opening the box and viewing this over the door rack, I actually said out loud, "Wow, this is cheap!" Out of the box, the metal was already bent out of shape, so I had to spend a few minutes reshaping the rack. I knew that I only paid $4.80 for this item, but I think it should have been priced at $2 tops. It's super lightweight (cheaply made) and I was worried that it wouldn't hold the weight of the items I was placing on the rack (a few bags, purses and a heavy-ish knitted wool coat), but so far it seems to be fine. I was still worried about the hook part poking my coat, so I just wrapped a bunch of tape around the hook my coat is hanging on to increase the surface area/ make the hook less "pokey." Since no one is going to see this rack except for me and I don't suspect that I will need this rack in my next living situation, it's awesome for my current needs. I absolutely would not use this rack anywhere in more public areas of my apartment because it looks super tacky and cheap. I'd rather not re-live my college dorm days. ::Shudder:: If you're cheap and have the time/ energy, I suggest checking out thrift stores for over the door racks. I have a different over the door rack that I picked up at a local thrift store for $3.99. The thrifted rack has nice hooks and is made of actual heavy duty metal that I can't bend with my hands at all.
