Voice Command Doesn't Work on Second Remote

This is a replacement for the first remote ordered. The additional remote was to use as the second remote with the Fire TV Box. The returned remote voice recognition didn't work. Amazon replaced it but the replacement exhibits the same problem. Everything works but the voice recognition. Pressing the mic button shows "Starting" on screen, then times out. After the time out, the text shows I didn't understand that. Apparently voice recognition only works on the main remote. Looks like I will have to return this for credit. I searched the entire web and Amazon for "Fire TV" Support. I didn't find any links to Fire TV Support. Apparently there is no support. for Fire TV other than to replace the unit. An online chat with customer service was useful only to get a return authorization. They had no information on support for the remote or Fire TV. If the Voice Recognition only works on the first remote, then there is no reason to keep the second remote. Hopefully Amazon reads the reviews and will verify or fix the second remote problem. If you set the second remote to be the primary remote #1, the voice recognition works fine but the problem then exists on the remote #2.

A God-send!

One day I knew this would happen .... the fabulously simple little remote for the magical Amazon Fire TV would disappear. I should have been prepared for this day and already had this replacement remote waiting. But, oh no, the original one is still lost. BUT this replacement, with the batteries included just as the original, was easy to instantly pair with the Fire TV. This time, though, I'm more prepared for misplacement. At the same time I ordered the replacement remote, I also ordered a light blue silicon cover for the remote so it will stand out among all the other remote thingies necessary to run everything, PLUS I ordered a "Click and Dig" tracking system in case this remote goes missing! So, with the blue cover on the remote, the tracking device firmly stuck onto it, all is well. The replacement remote runs the Fire TV perfectly, even with the skin tight silicon cover and the colorful tracker. Now all we have to do is keep the remote well out of reach from the dogs whom I'm sure would mistake this for an amazing dog toy :-)
