Wonderful lemon scent without being overpowering, clean burn and great price for 35 hours!

I am a huge sucker for any soy candle - love the clean burning and lack of soot/mucky smoke smell that regular candles leave off. I was glad to find a better selection of reasonably priced soy candles on Amazon -- with absolutely no desire to start making them at home (cheap but who has the time) or pay full price ($25 for a few ounces in an actual store, not like any of us DRIVE to an actual store these days, but still :) this is a nice addition to the other 5094853094835 products I buy here :) We have only tried the Lemon so can't comment on the other scents, but the Lemon is GREAT - clean, crisp, not to lemony-y or overpowering but you definitely notice it even in a decent size room. It's a great size - easy to move from spot to spot and the cover is great to use when you want the flame out. We are on our 6th one and they have all burned very evenly with no tunneling. It's been true to the 35 hour burn time claim and for this long & it being soy the price of around $7-8 is great; even better that it's on subscribe and save! We always mean to try the other scents but keep sticking to the lemon because we both love it (and it's gender neutral too - no complaining from either side.) I've attached a photo of ours half burned, with the top on. Definitely recommend this one to any candle lover!

Not the Cleanest of Days
By Sarah Restivo on Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2014
Oh Mrs Meyers....how I wanted to fall in love with your Clean Day Soy Candle in Lemon Verbena. I do try to purchase only soy based candles as my days of cleaning the black soot rim off my candle lighting right hand have sent me running in fear from a wax blend. This candle is the first soy based candle I have purchased that when extinguished, had a black smoke trail. It concerned me enough to look up the product line on [...] and although they do not have the candle listed, the laundry detergent in the lemon verbena had received a F rating with concerns in regard to chemicals used that involve Developmental & Reproductive Toxicity. A frightening find for Moms who may be using this "natural and non-toxic" endorsed product line on children's laundry. On a positive note, I commend the product packaging of the candle...the mason/jelly jar and the label do evoke an expectation of a clean, no nonsense, back to basics product. That's sadly where my positivity comes to an abrupt end. So let's just get to the fragrance end of things here. I have to believe that what most female candle burners are looking for, in addition to purchasing the most non toxic candles we can afford since we burn so many of these gems, is much the same quality list we look for in a man. We want the scent to be stable throughout, long lasting, invigorating and/or calming depending on our mood, and we want it to be present in a powerful way, without being overpowering. If this candle were a first date, there wouldn't be a second. I may actually have broken it off with a text, that's how disappointing this scent was. I couldn't even smell it burning within a foot of the actual candle. I hovered over it like a bird with an inner ear infection, confusingly circling it and sniffing the air....nothing. I went back to cleaning, it IS a clean day candle so I saw that as a sign I should clean the kitchen. I left the house.....I came back in. People of Amazon...I could not detect a bit of scent in the air. I'm off to try the Scentsy Tarts I purchased along with this order now. I can only hope for a happier experience. Goodbye Mrs. Meyers. I'm so sorry things didn't click for us.
