Perfect for our needs
By Antoinette on Reviewed in the United States on August 28, 2017
We have 2 older small dogs. We went back to house training basics, and are at stage 2, excerise pens which we bought on amazon, specific product found here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/mobile/udp/B000U5FOT2 We needed to have a raised bed as one pup was a marker & the other, well, we don't know why, suspect due to cognitive dysfunction, would just pee where ever & when ever the mood struck him =/ Both dogs had a tendency to pee on their beds, hence the need for easily washable beds. These fit the bill perfectly. They are surprisingly sturdy, good looking, and went together in a snap. Neither of these dogs are destructive, so no chewing of the exposed plastic parts. If that's a concern, I would reccomend you supervise your dog & do your best to interrupt destructive behavior by redirecting with an appropriate toy. We placed dog beds from Marshalls (that would easily fit in our washing machine) on their new cots to make them more comfortable. It also helps protect the mesh surface, as one dog (12# Miniature Pinscher) is kind of a digger. Pups are comfortable & we are happy with purchase. I have to admit that destruction of beds are way low on the list of concerns because they're teeny dogs. Our Chihuahua, Spyder is 7# & as I said before, Monster is 12. We'll likely make sure that there are always beds on these cots, just to make pups feel more comfortable & I expect it will be added protection for the surface. I would definitely reccomended these for dogs under 20# they're small, fit in corners without being in the way & look good too. We ordered 2 more to place in various rooms of our house, we have 3 additional small dogs, 2 under 10# and 1 topping out at a whopping 18#. All enjoyed taking their turns at the cots, before we put in the pens with the old guys 🙄 Remains 3 pups enjoyed these cuts so much, we ordered 3 more, so there's one for everyone.

Great idea for dog with yeast and allergy issues, but the mesh pad doesn't last
By gfmom on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2017
I purchased this for our 90-lb. Great Dane/Lab mix on January 5, 2017. One of the main reasons I selected this bed is because it allows air to circulate under his belly when he is lying down. He suffers from skin allergies and frequent yeast infections, so this was very important to me. On the plus side, my dog loves this bed. As a large-framed dog, he has comfy support for his long legs and bony body. It has definitely helped with the yeast issues since his "armpits" and belly stay dry unlike when he was snuggled up on a pillow-type bed. The frame of the bed itself is very sturdy and should last for as long as we want to use it. The main downside for this bed is the mesh pad. Because of his weight, there was obvious sag within the first couple of weeks. He has been using it for 4 1/2 months now and the interior mesh fabric is pulling away from the canvas edge. There is actually a five-inch rip on the front side of the bed. I expect the entire seam to go any day now. My dog does not chew, dig, scratch, or even circle his bed. He literally just gets on and lays down. The tearing is simply from the weight of his body. I can't imagine using this bed with a heavier dog. The frame may be rated for 150 lb. but the pad absolutely is not! In our situation, it looks like the pad will need to be replaced every 4-5 months. Although I expected to have to replace the pad eventually, three times a year is more than I expected. However, I will probably do just that for the foreseeable future until I can find a better solution for my dog's needs.
