Woot woot!

It blocks air pressure well, but lets a clear sound through! A great filter, you get your money's worth! The only thing I don't like about the construction is that you can unscrew the mount and the filter for easier packing, if you want. This is awesome, but it's also a double-edged sword. Sometimes, when I'm trying to bend the filter towards the right direction, it can unscrew. This is easy to fix: just don't twist it in the unscrew direction. Sure, you could fix this by requiring users to physically unscrew or unbolt pieces by adding an extra screw or bolt to hold the pieces in place, but who wants to spend 2m deconstructing their pop filter to compact it for carry when it takes 15s to do it by hand without having to carry a screwdriver around? I find, also, that 2" for me is as close as I can get the pop filter to the microphone (with my lips right up on the filter) without getting air through to the mic capsules. I enunciate big, so this is fantastic, because my p's can be a little extreme, yet I like to be within at least 6" to turn my gain down to keep my guitar from coming through too much. In addition, the plastic and metal haven't worn out in any way, yet, (but don't get too excited, I've only used it as prescribed, I don't know if it will survive tours where things don't end up where they're suppose to), and it's a sturdy little guy whose mesh is very springy, well-made, and can be stroked vigorously with a fingernail for a few minutes and be smooth as... well, as smooth as when I got it in the mail--which is kind of like silk, but more refreshing, like hosiery. The mesh also has a diameter that should capture the puffs of even very large-mouthed, loud singers. I myself am VERY loud sometimes, and it does a great job with a clear, perfectly un-muffled sound (unless you breath a huge amount right up in it, like a vaccum cleaner filter. Then, all you'll get is muffle, because the pop filter will be trying to stop it all). Lastly, speaking of the mic stand mount, it can take a minute to secure, but it does its job. If you need a pop filter, don't be discouraged, this one is well worth my money.

Deceptive advertising? or clever remarketing of an ordinary pop stop?
By Samuel on Reviewed in the United States on February 15, 2015
This pop filter caught my attention only because of the seller's claims that it was explicitly made for the Blue Yeti, a custom fit. I had grown tired of my largely unsuccessful attempts at screwing my old pop filter to a desk-top ledge, a lamp, or an iMac and was becoming resigned to holding the cumbersome gizmo in my hand. So I thought I'd search Amazon for a pop filter that replaced the heavy hardware--the gooseneck, screws and clamps--with a simple, light-weight, wooden (or plastic) handle. (20 years ago I would have purchased a pair of nylons, picked up a wire coat hanger, and made my own personal pop filter.) When I saw the Auphonix "Blue Yeti Pop Filter," I reconsidered: Why not? a pop filter especially made for attaching to the Yeti itself! It arrived within a couple of days, and to my surprise (and dismay) it's virtually identical with the "generic" one I paid 7-8 bucks for several years ago. From the Amazon description and photo, I had expected an item made of lightweight components and requiring minimal twisting and turning for convenient mounting on the Yetl. But the Auphonix filter is like all the others--same long gooseneck, same weight, same metal components. I can't deny that what you see in the picture is basically what you'll get.. But what's surprising is the packaging which, unlike that shown on the Amazon page, makes no mention whatsoever of the Blue Yeti microphone! On the front of the package are the words "Auphonix Microphone Pop Filter MPF-2," and at the bottom is a paragragh explaining the purpose of a pop filter. Who's the audience? Young teens, who have followed "American Idol" and suddenly find themselves in possession of a first microphone? On the back side of this same package from Auphonix are brief instructions for claiming "Your Bonus Ebook" along with an internet address for obtaining "tips and tricks" for "getting great audio." That's it! In short, were I to see this package and its pop filter hanging from a rack in an electronics store, I would have no reason whatsoever to associate it with a Blue Yeti microphone. Blue Yeti pop filter or not, check the illustration on this page tha shows the filter mounted to the mic.with an illustration showing how to attach a common pop filter to a Yeti. I'd recommend that you first try attaching your current pop filter to your Yeti before putting out $22 for a new one from Auphonix (which at least ia only half the price of the filter offered by Blue). At this time, Amazon's best deal in a proven, medium-quality pop filter appears to be the CAD Audio EPF-15A Pop Filter on 15-Inch Gooseneck, which is being offered ("used" but new) by Amazon Prime for around 10 bucks (to some of us starving artists, that in itself is music to the ears--devoid of sibilants, plosives, and all other irritants.) [Later: - If you're looking for a filter to attach to a Blue Yeti, there's only one small detail that may account for the premium price of filters advertised for that purpose: the piece of metal directly opposite the main, or lowest, mounting screw, is flat rather than rounded or angular. That flat piece--about 1"X .5"--fits flush and tight against the desk-top base that is included with the Blue Yeti. Most filters are made to be mounted on a tubular, floor-length, mic stand. Rather than "flat," that same piece is "angled" or slightly "contoured" for a better fit. (Of course, you can always insert a small metal flat piece in front of the concave one if your purpose is to attach a filter to a Yeti).
