Light, Airy Bike Helmet at an Outstanding Price
By Fenimore on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2013
I gave this helmet to my 18 y.o. son to replace his old one, dinged up in a crash. The new version is lighter and better ventilated, but still quite inexpensive. It's easy to snap on and easy enough to remove, too. Fortunately, Schwinn helmets seem to perform quite well in a crash, too. My son's old helmet had an ugly scrape on one side (better the helmet than his head) -- we were advised to replace helmets after any significant impact, so this one is the replacement. The sizing is very accurate - if you measure; it should fit fine. The best part about lighter and better ventilated? This helmet gets WORN... all the time, now, too, since the last one got scraped up. Funny how the ruination of just one helmet can make even the young see the rationale for using a skid lid ALL the time?! Obviously you can spend a lot more money on a helmet, but you really don't need to. The Schwinn is tested/certified/etc. and works. I'm protecting a big investment in college tuition now, so I make sure that brain of his is safeguarded.

Could fit up to a 12 year old... NOT FOR ADULTS! (despite the "14+" label on it...)
By Lisa m on Reviewed in the United States on August 26, 2016
If you have a normal/large size head, you will look like a british woman at high tea with one of those goofy pinned-on hats. Everyone else leaving reviews saying it's large must be buying this helmet for a child, the Geico gecko, or actually have a pea-sized head. A bike helmet should cover in the front down to 2 finger widths above your eyebrows. When I tilt it forward enough for that; the entire back of my head has zero coverage. As for width, there are still easily 2.5 inches above each ear exposed. The circumference of helmet itself does not shrink or expand like the adjustable hockey helmets - all you are adjusting is the strappy things inside this helmet. That does little good when the helmet itself doesn't even cover beyond the top of your head. It seems well made, lightweight, and is easy to adjust the strappy things, so I gave it 3 stars but I feel the description about adjustable for proper fit was misleading.
