5W Solar Charger

Item was delivered quickly and looked very nice at first. As I looked it over I noticed the usb plug looked very cheap but everything else looked great. Noting that it did not come with any instructions I plugged a cell phone into it and put it in the sun....Nothing. Figuring that it must have capacitors of some sort I unplugged the phone and left the unit in the sun for charging. After sitting in the sun all day I plugged the phone back in and nothing. I thought that maybe it just isnt compatible with my phone, I tried an ipod shuffle, nothing. I am not an expert in solar energy but I figure it only works two ways, plug it in and put it in the sun, or charge it in the sun first then plug in to it. Neither worked for me. The concept is cool but it just didn't work. UPDATE: The company was very receptive to my initial review and contacted me immediately. They replaced the charger with the next model up and it works great. I've had it now for a couple years and it is still going strong. I keep it in my camping bag and use it quite often. It does take some time to charge my phone but when you have no other source of power, it's a God send. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that spend a lot of time outdoors. Heck, maybe you kids out there could use it to keep your phones charged all day while you play Pokémon Go.lol. Bottom line, works great, price is great. Buy one.
