Altra Women's The One

Update after several months trying to make this shoe work: It is not for me. Every time I wear them, my feet hurt afterward. I got these shoes because I'm trying out a few zero-drop shoes. I'm overweight and my knees prefer some padding underfoot. My feet are wide, and I have sesamoiditis, which creates pain in the joint between big toe and ball of the foot. Many shoes are too tight for my wide feet. People say a lot of good things about Altra. So I thought these might work. I probably should have sent them back after trying them on, but they felt almost OK for me and I thought they needed breaking in. I ordered the usual size that I get in running shoes and the length was appropriate. The arch and heel width are a little tight. The forefoot is way too wide. Aside from the fact that they look like clown shoes, the forefoot lets my feet splay too wide and aggravates the sesamoiditis. Wearing these shoes, I've decided I need some snugness or support around my forefoot, and these shoes are just wrong for me.
