This is the best replacement LiftMaster Remote!
By Gerald T. Marianes on Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2015
This remote is 100% better than the original remote that came with the garage door opener. This remote looks, feels, and works much better than the original. The two best features of this remote are the battery and battery location (in the front of the remote while using a AAA battery, versus having to pry the remote apart and using two CR2032 batteries). This remotes uses a learning button, located in the battery area, and is so simply to program this remote. You will never want one of the old style openers again. Plus, the price of this opener is "half" the price than that of the old one. Enjoy this opener!

Range Leaves Somthing to be Desired but WORKS Usually
By Jeff F. on Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2014
The RANGE isn't everything that I had hoped for, but I love the simplicity of the TWO buttons for our TWO garage doors. Left button for the left door. Right button for the right door. I don't know if it is because our doors are metal, but sometimes it takes a few attempts, even when I'm directly in front of our garage.

Great remotes - half the price of Home Depot

Easy to program and they work perfectly. Not much else to add. I got the visor one because I heard that the key ring one burns through batteries - probably because when it's in your pocket or purse, you inadvertently hit the button a lot.
Works as advertized

This item works as expected. There is one button for each opener. The included instructions do not specifically address my particular model openers but I was able to figure out how to program it. Of course the 972LM openers I'm replacing worked well for the first year before they went west. It will be interesting to see just how long this model remote will last.
Workslike a charm withmy older opener

One of the the OEM remotes for my 12 year old opener got lost awhile back, and I was uncomfortable having only one. Unfortunately, the specific remote for my opener is now obsolete and out of production. The good news is that this one works with my opener. I had a little trouble programming it to work with my opener, in spite of a lot of experience pairing with multiple Homelink remotes in cars. It finally paired, however, and all is now good.

Replaced a obsolete lift Master 62LM works great, range about the same as old remote and it uses 1 easy to replace AAA battery, Much cheaper than trying to find a new Expensive original replacement.
Shorter range than other products

The range is far shorter than it claims to be and than it should be. I used the smart programming function, got it programmed correctly, and have tested it against two other universal openers and it has less than half the range of the weaker of the two. I have to pull my car up to almost touching the garage for it to catch the signal - it is incredibly frustrating.
Great Replacement for 972LM

... Love it so far. About 125 yard range to my Chamberlin Liftmaster 1/3HP garage door opener with a RED learning button. The programming is a little different than with my 971LM remote... I had to repeatedly slowly press and release the remote control button (in remote learn mode) until the programming took affect and the opener light bulb blinked twice... after about 30 seconds and the opener learn light led turned off. Open Door Discount Remotes delivered the remote to me in two fast days - Thx!
Much better design compared to the remotes that use button cells.

The remote works as expected and was easy to program with the help of the instructions. Both buttons were able to be programmed with the Lift Master model 8165 chain drive contractor model. Please keep in mind that I have two 8165 Lift Master openers and that one button controls each one. You can't program two buttons on the same opener. I like the fact that it uses 1 AAA battery compared to the other remotes that use a button cell CR2032 battery. Another plus is that you can easily access the battery compartment since there is a front tab cover to remove and replace the AAA battery.
Not 100% compatible with 972LM remote

I was hoping that 892LT would be a total replacement for the 972LM remote. The remote was a a perfect match for the Lift Master garage door opener, but I also use the 972LM to open our community gate. Unfortunately it would not program to the gate. So it didn't do the whole job. I am sure that some other gates and garage door openers can be programmed to be opened with the 892LT, but I can't judge that.
