The heel is lower than the rest of the in-sole. Its awkward and put too much pressure on the front of the foot. However, I bought a couple of soft, plastic insoles for the heel from Dr. Scholl for about $3 bucks, and "WOW" the problem was solved and the shoe fits "perfectly" and comfortably; can walk all day on them. Strongly recommend. The shoes also have a gorgeous appearance.
