Shark NV500 Lift-Away Upright Vacuum

At Christmas time I was looking for a great price on a Dyson vacuum cleaner because my Hoover WindTunnel finally "lost suction" and would not clean the carpets well anymore. I did see some reductions in pricing right after Thanksgiving, but not enough for my pocket book. One night I saw an advertisement on TV about the Shark Rotator Pro vs. the Dyson. I was skeptical of course, so I started doing research online and the Shark reviews were pretty favorable. There were some negative reviews but most were very positve. I started looking for a good deal on Amazon and finally found it; New Shark Rotator Pro for $179 and $4.99 shipping. I figured I would take a chance and boy am I glad that I did. This vacuum really does what it says, it has very strong suction. The first day I got it, I vacuumed the house from top to bottom and all the attachments were used fully. The carpets were very clean, the blinds all got a good work over, and all tile floors and area rugs. I remember dumping the canister about 5 times. Lots and lots of hair and dirt was removed from the house that day. Each time I use the vacuum, the house seems like its cleaner than it's ever been. The only complaint I have with this vacuum is the short flex hose that comes with the unit. I wished there was an additional hose one could purchase from Shark or Amazon with a longer length. Having to hold up the canister to reach up on shelves is somewhat of a hassle but I do love the vacuum despite this problem. If I did have the money to by a Dyson or a Shark, I would have to say I am sold on the Shark. This is truly a great vacuum and it really does what is claimed by the reviewers leaving positive feedback.
