Effective and Low Dust Cat Litter

Cat's Pride Max Power Clumping Clay Multi-Cat Litter is a great product for multi-cat households. It does an excellent job of clumping, making it easy to scoop out waste, and the odor control is impressive. I noticed that it neutralizes odors very effectively, which is a huge plus, especially in a home with multiple cats. The litter is low-dust, which is fantastic for both my cats and me (I have allergies). It lasts quite a while, and the 15-pound bag is a decent size for regular use. Overall, it’s been a solid choice for my cats, and I’ll continue to buy it!

I and my cat used to love this litter, but it's changed in the past few monthss.

When I first started buying the "Cat’s Pride Odor Control Lightweight Clumping Cat Litter with MaxPower" I thought it was great, would have given it 5 stars. It seemed to live up to its name; it was lightweight, clumped and absorbed much of the litter box odor. And it was a great value. But... lately something has changed whether in the manufacturing of the product or something else I don't know. My cat is clean and I scoop her litter box every day and never used to have lingering odors. But lately three things are happening with this litter: -- It's no longer clumps. The urine just soaks into the litter and when I try to scoop it, it just sifts through the slots in the scoop. -- Because it doesn't clump, the box gets smelly fast because the urine just saturates the litter. My cat has sure noticed the change! She likes to be clean and she used to scratch, scratch, scratch to cover her "business" before she walked out of her litterbox. Now when she pees she turns around and sniffs it then just runs away. (Although she still buries her poop). -- Aside from the odor, because the urine isn't clumping and just soaks through, it's very difficult for me to keep the litterbox clean. I've begun to have to buy a separate litter deodorizer to mix in with the smelly litter before I add fresh to the top. I'm a disabled senior citizen and can't afford to throw out all the litter every time; that's why I depend on cat litter that clumps and is easy to scoop. I'm really not just trashing the litter, the seller or the manufacturer; I'm just writing a straight-forward review. Anybody can look up all my Amazon reviews and see that they are fair and honest. The next time I buy litter I plan on researching other brands and will try something else even if it means having to pay a bit more -- if that's what it takes to make Minnie and I both happy.

No question that this is very dusty, as evidenced by the perpetual, thin layer of soot-like film covering the cats' bathroom (tub, toilet, sink, fixtures, picture frames - you name it). We have extraordinarily large litter boxes due to a finicky cat, so more typical boxes may not have this issue. After about six months of using this brand, however, it's time to look for something else. A few observations: Pros (which outweighed the cons for a while): - It is truly unscented and lightweight. - Tracking is definitely less than standard clumping litters. - I realize plastic isn't a brilliant container option, but do like the handle/pour-out design. Very easy to use. Cons: - No real odor control, guessing partly because it's unscented. Adding an odor neutralizer to the box improves this without adding much to total cost. - Does not clump as well as other brands. Fecal matter is fine, but urine clumps often disintegrate when being scooped, which makes it hard to clean the box well. - Incredibly dusty! When pouring into a box and also when scooping. Someone with a single standard/small box should have a better go of it.

We have this on subscribe and save and it is one of the best things we ever did. We have three cats so having this come consistently is a lifesaver. It's easy to use, cuts down on the odor from the litter box, it's easy to scoop when we are scooping and not a full clean out. The size is perfect too. One jug fills our litter box perfectly. Love it.
5 cats-2 boxes...this litter works

We have 5 cats and two of the electric green litter boxes that are sold here by Amazon. Only one of the litter boxes still works, we have to scoop the other one regularly. Even though this is not a light cat litter, it works great in the box that works, it is more affordable than the Meijer's cat litter that we have used for the past 10 years, and poo clumps up without taking masses of the litter with it when removed from the box. We have some big kitties that pee in mass amounts, and this litter really does hold up to it all. It sends the urine to stick to the the bottom of the working box tho, but I think this is only because we have to put less litter in the box so that the Mechanics in the litter box will work properly (those really do work best with LIGHT litter, but this stuff doesn't seem to come in an affordable light version.) We only fill the working box with about an inch and a half of litter and refill every other day as needed. Two containers of this litter will last us for more than two weeks most weeks. The rescues keep on coming, so we can not afford a new electric box, nor to fix the two that are broken --yes, we have a third box, but that is broken and in the basement for one of our cats who just can't tolerate the others most of the time, so I did not mention that one as she is the only cat who uses that box. We have not had to change the litter in THAT box for about 3 months now...just scoop and add a bit in every couple weeks to replace whats used. We use the unscented, and it still keeps the ammonia smell down during times when we have been sick and could not get to it fast enough. Great litter, and I will continue to use it so long as the price stays around where it has been. Buying more expensive products means I can not rescue more cats...so...I love this stuff!

It's not a bad litter. I doesn't hide the smell like some other litter I've used, but it does clump some what, which makes it easy to clean. It works about as well as litter should. It is a cheap price for what you get. It's a nice size bottle. I think I'll stick with my Purina litter we usually use, but if I ever have to buy this one again, I would. I think it's good as a temporary solution. It does, however, get everywhere.

After 2 years of trying various brands, I find this brand has solved the litter odor problem. I have two cats and had to clean the previous litter products immediately after the cats used them because of the lingering odor, but not this product..
