I don't have time to write reviews, BUT...someone needs to describe this item in detail.There are conflicting reviews leaving the shopper unknowing. This is the info I would have needed. If you have a CAT problem, then shop onward my friend. Only the bottom piece is waterproof, none of the arm or back "rest" (upright) part of the cover is anything but a flimsy cloth. They have a "waterproof membrane", but only on the flat part of the seat. Any intelligent or obnoxious cat thinking "I could pee on this" will pee in the part in the crack at the back..hitting part that is not covered..or even on the back rest itself. This is an easy thing for a cat to accomplish, trust me. My six year old was playing a video game on his tablet on the couch the first day I had it on the couch. The whole cover slid down and the part that should have been upright was on the seat portion. One of my 5 cats got on it and marked all over this material...soaking the seat of the couch right in the middle. This thing worked for about an hour. Also. These straps tie under your couch cushions. My couch has attached cushions, they are not separate items. So all the straps have to be stuffed in where you can fit them. So it did not work for me. If you think a lot of fluid is going to be poured on this, there is no protection at the back of the seat! So think on that.
