This one is *just right*

After purchasing my Kindle Fire HD at the end of March, I went on a hunt for the perfect cover/case. First, I ordered the Amazon case that was specifically designed for this model. It was nice and I liked the slim form factor of it. The only thing that I did not love was the material - it says leather, but doesn't feel or behave like leather... I then ordered another case by another maker, which was hideous in person and the cover prevented the device from being charged while closed. It also didn't have a wake/sleep feature (I should have read the description better on that one) I then ordered one from another brand that was very nice with decent leather, but it was *super clunky* in person and the color was too bright. I got this one about an hour ago. It is *just right* - it is sleek even though it can be propped up to watch video. It can charge while closed ( a recent upgrade made by the company) and the sleep/wake feature works perfectly. The purple is a great shade and it looks like it will age well. I am a happy customer -thank you!

Sadly, it's not the best

I bought a similar case from this company for my e-reader kindle, and I expected to love this case for my Fire HD just as much. Sadly, I'm very disappointed. The way you have to put your kindle in the case makes no sense -- it seems like it should be rotated 180 degrees. You cannot close the case while the kindle is charging, and you cannot prop it up on the stand while it's charging because the plug for the charger is against the inner "hinge" of this case. It really doesn't make ANY sense at all. The elastic hand slip in the back is way off to the side (because of the slits used to prop up the kindle when you're using it as a stand) and that makes it very awkward to hold using the hand slip. The smell that some people might complain about goes away after a couple of days; it's nothing to worry about. The reason to avoid this product is the stupid design. I'm so sad I don't love it. I got the purple one and it's BEAUTIFUL but I think I might send it back because the design is just so poor. Right now, my kindle is laying exposed to the dangers of the world because it's charging and I can't close the cover! What good does that do? Put your money elsewhere.
