Vitamix has proven it's worth
By rebecca on Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2025
2nd Update: Initially was very ticked with customer service for taking so long to get to me. After placing a call and waiting on hold for 30 min I have to say it was worth the wait. They supplied a label for shipping all I had to do was deliver to my local 'Goin Postal' who packed and shipped it. It was mailed 7 Feb. They provided tracking and it was received by Vitamix on 11 Feb and returned to me repaired on 15 Feb. They replaced the pitcher with a new one and it looks like they replaced the sprocket on the base as well. So far so good, havent mixed anything 'thick' yet but was very impressed by the turnaround time and ease of returning the product under warranty with no cost to me other than the time involved.Update: 4 Feb 2025..Finally called Vitamix instead of messing around with the countless emails. Spent 30 minutes on hold before reaching a customer service rep. Had to go thru all the same things I went thru with the email correspondence but eventually got around to them sending me a return shipping label so that I could return it be checked out. I will update my review when resolved. I was told it would take about 10-14 days for turnaround. Mailed on 2/7/2025.Feb 2025: I bought my Vitamix in 2019 and it worked just fine with occasional use for smoothies, humus and soups. Recently it has started to grind in high speed. Understanding it has a 10 year warranty I contacted the company on Jan 19, 2025. It's now Feb 3 and I still dont have any resolution. I've been asked multiple times for information and each time I send info it takes another week for them to get back to me. Really disappointed in their customer service.

I regret my purchase
By Jane Eyre on Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2025
I would give this 0 stars if I could. I had high hopes for this blender, after all it is a Vitamix regularly priced at $499 or more. Luckily, I did get it on sale, but I still spent nearly $400 for it. Unfortunately, it has several glaring flaws. 1. The blender does not lock into the base; it simply rests on the base. This causes a whole host of problems, as it will wobble if you try to use the tamper or even touch the handle. 2. As others have mentioned, the lid is a tough inflexible rubbery plastic that does not click in place and which takes some muscle to secure, and yet, it still pops off. 3. The tiny blade at the bottom means that it will not blend about an inch above the blade without vigorous use of the tamper. I bought it to make two things - the Medical Medium heavy metal detox smoothie and the liver rescue smoothie using frozen fruit with only a small amount of liquid so that I would have something akin to soft serve. I was assured by Vitamix before purchasing that this blender could indeed handle frozen fruit with little liquid. But no, it simply wants to blend about an inch above the blade. It then takes numerous plunges and mixes of the tamper to try to get the smoothie to thoroughly blend. It is a bicep and tricep workout, and often the whole thing still does not blend. 4. The tall container, which Vitamix advised was the best for single servings, is impossible to get all of the food out of the sides, bottom, and around the blades. I end up with berry-stained arms up to my elbows attempting to spoon out all of the food for my meal. I sincerely regret this purchase.
