Aladdin Magic Lube 5oz Teflon Lubricant

The o-rings on my pool chlorine feeder typically last only a year or two. When it was time for a replacement again this spring, I bought a tube of Aladdin Magic Lube and applied it according to the directions in hopes of extending the life of the o-ring. Within a couple of months, the lube formed a sticky emulsion that caused the o-ring to grab and deform when screwing on the lid of the feeder, and the almost new o-ring failed. In other words, this product had pretty much the opposite of the intended result. Based on the other reviews of this product, which are uniformly positive, I can only guess that my tube came from a bad batch. Nevertheless, after replacing an o-ring that lasted only a fraction of the usual life span and spending a fair amount of time cleaning the sticky residue off the chlorinator body and lid, I pitched the rest of the tube, and I won't be buying another.
