Bought this in November. In February, it stopped working. The fuse is fine, but it gets no power. I'm outside the seller's warranty window, so I opened a ticket with the manufacturer. They said that the vendor is not an authorized dealer, so they won't fix it.

Great! My main system has two Vanderstien 2wq's at $1300 each. I know accurate bass. The Energy is the best, by far, I've heard for the price. The driver and amp are perfectly matched. I have the level set at half-way in a 12x 15 room. I keep the crossover at 50hz as the speakers are relatively full range. Very pleased. Amazes guests with it's clean authoritative impact.

A great value for a very low price. Better for Video applications, however it does alright for music.
if you like that sort of thing

5 stars value for money. I actually put two of these in a stereo system, one set to 50hz and below, and one set to 40hz - 90hz... reason for doing this is that with low frequencies, the response time it takes the speakers' diaphragm to respond, especially with fast music, is hard to overcome with one, fairly cheap speaker... by using two of these energy 12's, to my ears at least, I think the sound is comparable to single subs costing $800 ish. So a bargain in that configuration. If just using one of these Energy 12's, I noticed the sound gets a little muddy at the low end, particularly with quickly played bass notes and bass beats. Note I'm using a separate EQ to control the signal to the sub... the sub has crossover controls for the high pass only... I think the built in crossover goes up to 180hz, which lets in a hint of the mid-range, if you like that sort of thing. Well made also... I read somewhere that Energy is Klipsch's low-end brand, or that Energy licenses crossover tech. from Klipsch or something like that. Either way, they sound similar to Klipsch's lower-priced subwoofers, but note the Energy 12's have only 150W on-board amps, which is a bit less that comparable Klipsch's.

Bought this as a replacement for my 8 inch energy sub (which is 14yrs old) and couldn't be happier. Deep clean bass with no distortion at any volume.
Musical, Tuneful

This, simply put, is a great sub. It's musical and tuneful, with very responsive controls. It replaced a Martin Logan Dynamo 300, and I am ever so glad that it did. A fine pairing with my Magnepan speakers.
The ESW 10 is built like a tank with thick wood wall enclosure

I gave this sub a three star because it does not perform as well as my Energy ESW 10 Sub woofer that is 12 years old. The ESW 10 is built like a tank with thick wood wall enclosure, it is physically bigger than the Power 12 Sub. The ESW 10 has very precise well defined notes, very clean no over lap i.e. muddy murky bass notes. Bass radiation into the room is big and powerful with impact that fills the room, which is just over 23 ft x 19 ftx with a 12ft ceiling at peak. The Energy Power Sub 12 is wimpy by comparison given the same settings. However with this added sub I don't need to run the ESW 10 as hard to fill the room because it is showing it's age...there is some distortion on the very lowest of notes, that is why I got the Power Sub 12 to augment the bass frequencies. The only thing is I have to set the output of the Sub 12 to a higher level to get the same level of output as the ESW 10 and then it is not as clean sounding. Although there is a fundamental difference between the two, the Power Sub 12 is a ported design while the ESW 10 is a sealed enclosure. I am not sure what the cabinet of the Power Sub 12 is because it is lined with black vinyl covering, I suspect the enclosure is very thin MDF. My whole system is 5.1 Energy speakers of 12 years past and I think Energy was putting out better speakers then, then they are now. I might add my system is mainly used for Blu-Ray movies and TV snows and not much for music as I have a dedicated Hi End system for that.

I now have two of these ,WOW listening to this years ROCK and ROLL hall of FAME . The subs do make a difference . That opening scene in Stanley Kubricks 2001 , Pink Floyds dark side of the moon ,Santana , Pat Methany . I can go on. Just the right amount of power for my living room . Like I have been saying for awhile now , what will klipsch do with the energy brand ?

The sub has the power for my media room, but not so much that it rattles the walls. Nice clean power and it lets you know its there when appropriate. I will eventually buy an additional unit for my other system. Nice buy good bargain
