Sunbeam Royal Luxe Cabernet Heated Blank

Amazon has this blanket at 4 1/2 stars and I took that at face value when I ordered it. But now, after the fact, I read the reviews and see that there are a LOT of negative reviews. I should have looked more carefully before ordering it. We've had this blanket for about 2 weeks and so far it is still working. My disappointment is with the controllers. There is no light telling us if it is on or off. The only way to know is by pushing a button.....we can't just look at it from across the room. When we turn the blanket on, it is always at heat level 6, auto-off at 8 hours. It does not hold the last setting. If you turn it on in the middle of the night, we have to go ":::click:::click:::click:::" (loud clicks) to get the setting we want, bothering the other sleeper. Also, if, during the night, if we want to check what setting it is at, we can't just look at it, we have to push a button. Since these controllers are all solid state, I don't see why it can't have a nice little dim, backlit window, on all the time the blanket is on. If I had it to do over, I would not buy this blanket. But, if we can believe MANY of the other reviewers, it won't last long and I can get a good one next time, after I research more carefully.
