Match from Heaven. Hydroflask bottle & Klean Kanteen 3.0 sport cap
By Jelantik on Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2014
I'm a road cyclist. And I have been looking for a water bottle that can keep my water cold during my ride. I've gone through polar bear, camel back and none can keep my water cold after more than 1hr ride. I looked into insulated bottle from Hydro Flask, but I don't like their sport cap, and with that cap, the bottle is not insulated as good as the other cap. I looked at Klean Kanteen bottle, but the one with a sport cap isn't insulated bottle. After reading review here, some reviewer said that this cap works with hydro flask bottle, particularly the 21 inch bottle. Without hesitation I bought two of these cap to go along with my 21 inch and 12 inch Hydro flask bottle. Boy, It didn't disappoint me. Not only now, I have ice cold water during my long ride, the cap pours good amount of water without you try to suck it too much. The tip is soft and felt nice on your lips. And you easily push the tip using your teeth to close it with one hand. I don't plan to put this on my backpack or gym bag or any kind of bag. The bottle is only going to sit on my bottle cage on my bike. So I'm not too concern about leaking like some other reviewers said. In my experience, the water doesn't leak when I drink it during the ride. It sealed pretty good and no leak whatsoever. The only place the water comes out is through the tip of the cap. So if you are looking for an insulated bottle to keep your water cold during a long hot ride, get this cap with hydro flask bottle. They are a perfect match.

Waiting for version 3.1
By Stanley on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2013
Well, I had the bottle with the "2.0" version of the cap. Let me first register my disgust at the leaky quality of that cap and why I decided to upgrade. Now, you'd think that a cap would... well cap the bottle, that is to say it would prevent the egress of liquids resulting in accidental decanting of said substance onto your pants. However when you find your bag soaked in water, or find unusual wetness on your car seat, and slap your head yet again because you forgot that a wad of paper would work better at the challenging task of closing this bottle, you then start thinking of solutions. After finding this cap and reading the reviews that assured me that I should not expect leakiness or the slurping sound of the previous version, I grudgingly forked over another $6 towards the $26 bottle. Besides the criticism of a company charging that much for a cap, yes a CAP that was essentially defective in the first place, I expected this one to be perfect. And it almost was. What kind of killed it for me was that the mouthpiece has no cap. I mean that was the only reason I got the bottle in the first place, so that I could dump it in my gym bag not worrying that the mouthpiece will come in contact with dirty socks or sneakers. The "2.0" version had such a cap, and yes my first thought was that I could use that one (rendering my previous cap useless, other than reusing it on a different bottle). But no, unfortunately it doesn't fit well as the mouth piece is too large for it. And by the way, is the ".0" really necessary? I mean if the company on such bleeding edge of sport cap research that they need decimals for their version numbers, it makes me wonder why they just can't get it right. It also puts me in mind of tech products, and leaves me wondering - is there a "patch" or an update coming? Now I bet that the mouthpiece cap that SHOULD have come with this product is, or will soon be available - for a fee. Maybe none of it would be a big deal if I knew what I was getting into, but this last screw up was just the last cherry on top that made me hate this product and the company that makes it. Bravo Klean Kanteen, you've managed to frustrate me with a water bottle. Well here's me waiting for Sport Cap version 3.1... NOT.
