Perfect rice that can be held warm all day!

I've always used single-switch rice cookers, and you have to use the perfect ratio in order to even come close to a decent result. I've never been able to hold it more than an hour or so without the bottom becoming crispy, but with this rice cooker, it's more forgiving, as it soaks for 30 mins then cooks for the other 30, holding and releasing steam as it goes. I made white rice then added a homemade ragu after cooking, and it lasted nearly 24 hours before starting to get crispy on the bottom. Even if you only cook rice once a week, this is well worth the investment, especially now when it's only around $170.

A rice cooker from the reputable Japanese brand for rice cookers. Only complaint is that it slides on the kitchen counter as the legs are not padded which my other rice cooker also from this brand had. I had to put friction pads on it myself. The lid doesn’t swing all the way up when you press the button to open it but can be pushed all the way up manually. I like its simple menu, a good variety of cooking options and the feature where it shows the amount of time needed for different cooking methods like 40 mins for quick cooking and 64 mins for sth else. The dark gold metallic color is nicely paired with my kitchen decor. Just wish it wasn’t so slippery because kids might not know where to touch and push it and fall.
