Haag 4/09 Shingle Gauge

As other reviewers have addressed - Haag is the only manufacturer that makes these, and consequentially they can flex their monopolistic strong arm by charging a whopping $35 for a 6" tall piece of metal. In some conditions, I could accept paying that much money for something so simple. A very high quality tool, that would last a life time, for $35? Deal! Sadly, this tool is just a hunk of metal with silk screened ink markings - not even engraved! In this case, this is just Haag taking advantage of the lack of competition. After a few days in my tool bag, the gauge's markings began to scratch off because, like I stated, Haag decided to go the cheap route and use ink instead of engraving the design features. Disappointed customer at the hands of a huge company.
