So far so good. I have seen the reviews that it fails within a year. I have had it for a month or so, it works so far. I switched from a (working) 120v light. I mainly was interested in the low power of the light and the fact that 12v with an isolation transformer is about as safe as you can get ( I even kept the GFCI on the breaker, so I suppose that makes it safer still). I ordered the shortest lead possible, 30 ft, and at that I still had to cut off more that half of it. I removed the leads for the old light, tied them to a substantial carpenters line, taped it up, and pulled from the light end. It took a fair yank to get started, but was easy to remove once going. The new lead was tied to the line in a similar way to reverse the process. I am fairly paranoid about water incursion, so I actually sealed up the end with silicone caulk. The entire line was greased well with silicone grease, which I figured would both make it easier to pull as well as giving the next installer a break. I have been operating it with just a switch, but am planning to install the controller. My wife is thrilled with the lightshow modes and different colors. I'll post back in a year :-) I am truly sorry for the others who had trouble. Sounds like pentair should work with you to figure out the issue. I use other Pentair equipment, and have had no trouble with those items.
