Worth The Money for Great Listening Headphones
By Grayson Hurd on Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2012
Sound: These are great listening headphones for people, especially for people who can appreciate sound clarity. I was also considering the Dr. Dre Beats Pro Over-Ear Headphones, but they were much too bass-heavy. These have a nice balance of highs mids and lows. The bass boost button also adds a good low range and surprisingly does not "muddy up the sound." The only downside to the bass boost is that it can only be used when using the headphones wirelessly. However, I haven't even missed not being able to use the bass boost when using the chord - the sound is great as is. It just makes music you listen to sound better - you may even hear small nuances you never noticed in songs you've heard many times before. Construction: It is a plastic construction but that doesn't seem to make it any less durable. The ear pads are also very comfortable and hold up nicely. Overall they are comforable and I wouldn't worry too much about them breaking. Features: First of all, the headphones don't get too loud when you crank it. This doesn't mean they can't go louder, because they can. When using the chord, the headphones will get as loud as you probably will want them too with hurting your ears. What's great is you don't have to use these at a loud volume for them to sound great. There is also a bass boost (like I mentioned before) and a volume control on the side of the earcups. These can be used when you are wireless. The colume control can raise the volume of the headphones past the normal limit that is given when using the chord (though it is not really needed unless you like to listen to music ridiculously with headphones). The wireless capability is also really good. Of course if you are a sound expert you will probably notice a slight difference, but being a professional musician myself, I can honestly say that it sounds almost too close to the chord to throw you off or even tell the difference. Also, they say the range on the wireless device is 50 ft. and it really is. The only downside to it is that you have to charge both the headphones and the wireless receiver separately on the same charger (only necessary for wireless function). Bottom Line/Comparison: I recommend these to everyone who is looking for great sound quality in headphones. If you are someone who likes clarity and balance in music where you can hear pretty much everything that is going on in the mix - these are for you. If you are someone who just wants bass heavy headphones that have a lot of "thump" get the Beats. The Beat Pros and the SYNCs are both $400 direct from the companies. However, here on Amazon, the Beats are around 350 whereas the SYNCs are around 250. To me, all signs point to the SYNCs as being the best value. Note for musicians and producers: If you are looking for headphones to mix with - these are definitely better than most headphones for that, but they are still EQ'd. I would consider getting some professional studio monitors (Yamaha, JBL, etc.) or at least some studio headphones such as the Shure SRH440 or SRH840. Ben Moody of Evanescence/We Are The Fall recommended these to me.

Surprisingly Bad
By K M on Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2013
I was quite excited to buy this product. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly waned as I realized that its quality was not warranted by the exorbitant price. I tried everything and followed the directions to the letter, but the headphones would lose connection to the "dongle" at seemingly random intervals. I tried a few things: I made sure all parts were charged properly, and even contacted the company (sms audio). The headphones would simply lose connection at random intervals. Sometimes they would work fine for half an hour, but most of the time I had to re-sync the dongle and headphones every few minutes. That is a cumbersome process that involves 1) turning on the headphones 2) turning on the dongle 3) holding the button on the headphones for five seconds 4) holding the button on the dongle for five seconds 5) waiting half a minute as the two sync. It's a very cumbersome, clumsy system. Also, there are lights on both sides of the headphones that glow every few seconds. I didn't think much of it until I decided to wear the headphones around bedtime to relax. When you turn the lights off, the bright blue flash is very fast and very bright and hurts your eyes. Fortunately, there is an airplane mode, but it's also annoying to turn on. I think the problem with these headphones is that they are so "sophisticated" that they are simply "complicated." I suppose my review is harsh, but I am trying to warn other people not to make the same mistake as I did. These headphones are EXPENSIVE, but I liked them far less than my $12 dollar Sony headphones. I returned the product after about a week. Nevertheless, I must admit, they were "aesthetically pleasing" and good in terms of sound, traits which attracted me to the product in the first place.
