Time will tell how well this item holds up, but out of the box it is fantastic especially compared to the cheap knock-off's out there. The magnet that attaches the cover to the iPad is strong and secure, the magnet that puts the device to sleep is strong and effective. The cover is soft and flexible with clean edges. I have 2 clip-styles iPad cases - one frayed at the edges immediately and then the plastic "clips" that attach it to the device broke after 3 months, and the other never fit the device correctly and does not put it to sleep. Considering the high cost of an iPad, a few extra bucks for the "real" cover is worth it, especially when the marketing gods priced the light blue at $8 less for some odd reason. The real choice is in whether you want/need the cover or the case.

When I made the purchase for this accessory I looked up whether this item would work on my ipad and based on that information I made the purchase. For what I paid I think that this item is ok. It offers very basic protection to the screen but that is about it. It does lock my ipad when I close it but the cover is flimsy and while in my bag or after gripping the device it will wake the device unintentionally. I use the cover as a stand when I watch movies and it works decently. I am definitely going to buy a different case for travel and will probably use this case while at home when I wish to have a less bulky device.
