Lasted Michigan winter
By H Charity on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2024
I waited to make a review on this pool cover to see how it did through the Michigan winter. It is durable and held up to high winds. It does allow for water and melting snow to flow through. Did not have to add as much water in spring. Keep in mind that because water does flow through cover, pool may need a little extra tlc in spring with cleaning and chemicals. However for me it was better than using a cover that did not support weight of ice and snow and tear allowing for debris to fall in pool regardless. Recommend using with pool pillow and leaf net in fall. Outperforms many other expensive models I have used in past.

Cheaply made!

I’ll start by saying that I’ve had a pool for 23 years. I’ve owned a total of 4 covers, I know how to properly close out the pool. This is the WORST cover you could possibly imagine. I noticed it was a little frayed at the seam when I was installing it but I used it anyway. Huge mistake! It ripped apart in 3 places over the winter. I’ll remind you, I’ve done this for years, I know how to install a cover. Having lots of sun exposure to the water and debri, when I took the cover off, I had black algae. I fought it for 2 weeks, spent an excessive amount of money and time trying to fix this. I finally gave up yesterday and did a 75% drain. This is the worst start to the pool season that I have ever experienced.

Pros: 1) Easy to install, even with 1 person if absolutely necessary. 2) It does keep leaves and tiny debris from going through. Cons: 3) It holds water; doesn't drain through unless it is NOT touching the water, which is impossible unless you blow up so many pillows to put underneath that it covers the entire surface first. You have to siphon the water off the top before you can remove it. It takes at least 2 people to remove it, because of this, and it takes a very long time. Water does not seep through easily. It is extremely heavy even after siphoning what can be siphoned. 2) Algae grows on it therefore cleaning it is virtually impossible. It turns white and crusty. After hours of scrubbing it, it still isn't clean. (see attached pictures) 3) Cover is brittle, and we have used it only 1 season. It also already has holes in it. (see attached pictures) 4) The seam at the outer part is already starting to come apart. You touch one of the hanging pieces and the weave starts to unravel (see attached pictures) 5) It blows off easily even after tightening the cord as tight as it will go, and believe me, my husband is a strong man, so we had to use clamps to hold it down. I read another review and it is true that the warranty is ridiculous. Packaging it and sending it back for a partial refund is not a problem, but paying the shipping for it, that's poor customer service, since it states there is an 8-year warranty. Basically, you use it for 1 season, loses half its value, so risk using it a second season, and it is worthless. For the price of it, it'd be worth it just paying for a cheaper one, using clamps to hold it down, and then buying another cheap one year after year. It's more economical.
Good cover.

This is my second one. It's pretty durable. The only problem was that the winch corroded kinda fast. Emailed customer service and they took care of it. Other than that, I like it. Would buy again.
Lasted 7 years?

Unless I'm mistaken and I bought a different cover in between, this cover served us seven years, with a little help from some Gorilla Tape. The first time I used a mesh cover, it just sank into the water. Since then, I've always put a solar cover under it to support it. I cut some holes in the solar cover and attached it to the skimmer with tarp clamps and twine so that it wouldn't shift around with the wind. Next time I might try the ratchet straps or pool tree idea. I think I'll also try cover clips. I've been using 1/2 gallon milk jugs, but they're very hard on the cover, keeping it stretched tight when the water level drops. The mesh cover does let silt through, and my water is very acidic in the spring. With a solar cover under it it still gets a fair amount of debris on top, but very little water! So I can "rake" the debris off pretty easily and generally just let it go until pool opening time. I never need to syphon water out anymore.

I use it all the time, and remove it once a week to clean the pool. Some of the gourmets have pulled loose. Next time I will get the next size smaller. Works great at keeping the acorns out of the pool.

This cover has been used on an 18 foot round pool. There’s plenty of extra around the sides. Sits well, has never blown off. Still holding up well having used it for two seasons. Great value for the money.
Grommets don’t stay on?
By I just opened this cover and installed it on my pool. It is supposed to have an 8 year warranty? When I took it out of the package 3 of the grommets are already off? - Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2024

I bought this in May, and just installed it because the leaves are starting to drop. When I took it out of the sealed package, 3 of the grommets are off already? Other that that it doesn’t appear terrible. We will see how well it lasts!

If you have a 21’ pool Don’t get 24’ cover. It is way too large. We are making due since we have it
