Cats loved it. It will take an hour or two to put together

The box itself is heavy of course so definitely make sure if you live in an apartment or have several stairs that you have help getting this inside. I noticed anything heavy seems to be left downstairs and not at my door. Had a neighbor not helped me I wouldn't have been able to get this up the stairs. The cat tree I put together Christmas day as I didn't have a place to "hide" it until Christmas morning for them (silly, I know 😜) and it took me about 2hrs to get it fully built. I didn't have any difficulties with it except the ramps which I will say to screw the piece that attaches to the ramp first and then screw it to the tree and definitely make sure to screw that on BEFORE you attach that level to the tree otherwise you have to bend over trying to find the right spot to screw it in and it becomes a pain of either laying the whole tree down to do it or trying to get up and under to do it. So definitely attach those first. My cats do love it although they won't got all the way to the top seat and Idk if it's because they can't see out the window up there or if it's because they are scared but they do use every other part of it. I throw their toys all over it to keep them busy while on it. I will say we had this since Christmas morning and it's now March 9th and the ropes are already coming undone from my cats scratching on them which is their purpose so I wish those were glued better or had 2 layers but I'm guessing I will probably have to buy some of that rope online and redoing it myself when the time comes.

Easy to assemble but some design flaws
By Gavyne on Reviewed in the United States on May 15, 2024
My cat's cat tree needed an upgrade, so I bought this partly due to the good reviews it has received. While this cat tree was easy to assemble, there are some design flaws that make this not a good cat tree for adult cats. First of all, the cat perches have a corner cut off, as seen in my picture. This makes the perch much smaller than they should be, too small for my adult 12 year old cat. You can see him try to lay on the perch in the pics, but he has to hug one side of the perch because the corner is cut, so he can't relax on it. He's simply too big for it and my cat is only a 14lbs cat. I've noticed my cat only laid on it when I initially set this tree up, but he has since moved back to his old cat tree for naps. He sprawls out when he's napping there's no way he could do that on this cat tree. I'm not sure why they cut the corners off, maybe thinking cats would use that side to climb up? I'm gonna tell you cats don't need the corners cut to climb up on a perch, my cat didn't even use that side when climbing up. They need to change the design of these perches to give us a full perch, and make them slightly bigger. Second design flaw with these perches are the screws, they protrude out even when tightened completely. This can't be very comfy for a cat trying to nap on it. My previous cat trees have all solved this issue by either making sure the screws lay flat with the perch, or one even removed the need for a screw on top of the perches. Next design flaw are these sisal posts, see the 4th pic. Compared to all my other cat trees, these sisal posts have fabric wrapped on the top and bottom of the posts. My cat is a good boy, he's well trained to only scratch on the sisal posts. So when he saw the fabric, he didn't lay a paw on them at all. He has completely avoided these sisal scratching posts, which renders one of the top 2 reasons you buy a cat tree worthless. When my cat scratches these sisal posts, he always scratches the top 1/3 of the posts, as you can see in the pic of this cat tree post sitting next to my old ones. Cats need to be able to stretch out when scratching. When you have fabric covering the top 1/3 of the sisal posts, you make them completely useless. Many cats would simply not scratch them. Cats really need that exercise daily, to be able to stretch out and reach up, and scratch these posts. Not to mention the fabric shed like crazy and my cat didn't even touch it. Lastly, a caution, the edges of all the boards and hide boxes are sharp. I have my 2 old cat trees there and compared, the other cat trees round out the edges a bit, or at least covered it with heavy carpet. Because the carpeting is very thin on this cat tree, the edges are sharp, and could hurt you or the cat if you happen to bump into them. These design issues can be fixed if the manufacturer is willing, and these would be good cat trees to buy. I would even buy another if these issues are fixed. But for now, I would not recommend these cat trees for any adult cats or any larger cats. They may be ok for juveniles and smaller, younger cats. But for larger adults, you should avoid them. I unfortunately am stuck with a cat tree that my cat can't and won't use. Do your cats a favor, and look for a better one. Don't make the same mistake as I did and get mesmerized by the number of good reviews this cat tree received.
