A little preventative maintenance, and this is an AWESOME piece of playscape fun!
By CTdad on Reviewed in the United States on July 3, 2015
For this price...I honestly could not possibly be happier.Based on other reviews, I also bought some 303 waterproofing that people tend to use on boat covers, and convertible tops with GREAT success. I see no reason why a healthy application on the seats wouldn't extend the lives significantly.Took me about an hour to put together. A second person is basically required for a few steps, but can mostly be done alone. Assembly was no real issue. Minimal parts for the size and movement as far as I'm concerned.Took two 200 lbs adults for a ride with no problem. So far from amazon I have bought this, a canvas seat swing, a disc swing and all hardware. I'm about $300 in, and feel I'm well on my way to creating a fantastic backyard play area for my almost 6 year old daughter. Next up is a geometric climbing dome for around 170. I feel I'm coming out WAY ahead of spending 800-1500 for a playscape-in-a-box. As soon as I figure out how to integrate a slide somewhere, playscapes will offer nothing over what I'm doing.People also mentioned chipped paint in places....a-yup. I see that too. Again, a little preventative maintenance makes this a non-issue. All of our cars require some money and attention at least every 3 months with oil changes and the like. A little waterproofing here, a little paint there, for a piece of equipment meant to last years, shouldn't be a huge deterrent.Forgot to mention the 14' circle trampoline with enclosure...got a good deal on that a year ago, around $200.My daughter is over 4 feet tall at her age. This lifts her butt about 4' off the ground at it's highest. PLENTY high enough for her, or any of her reasonably sized classmates (my daughter being unreasonably tall). It is EXTREMELY sturdy. I have no worries about failure. The handlebars in front of the seats do a fantastic job, and have nice, padded grips, and padded center bar just in case.Id does have holes in all four feet if you wanted to mount it to the ground, but I see no NEED to do this, but extra options are always appreciated. The only tools you WILL need are a socket (5/8" if memory serves) and a channel lock/vice grip/something akin. I also needed a hammer for 3/4 pins. One pin slid rright in, no problem...the other three went about 3/4 of the way in, and would not budge. Hammering them in I knew was not the best idea...but they had to be inserted. Luckily, I was gently enough that I didn't mess up any of the threading. Those pins, and the accompanying hardware, were difficult.***TIP FROM PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER***Those aforementioned pins are the pivot points when this swings up and down. There are two black metal "caps" that go around the outside of the pins, and a short bolt that goes through the cap, in to the pin. You will never, EVER get all for black metal caps snugly in until you tighten the bolts. I fought this for about 10 minutes before the light bulb went off, and I laughed at my own stupidity. Literally 60 seconds later, it was done.I felt the price was a steal. I figured it would be 3-400 for this kind of thing, I was pleasantly surprised. I know my daughter will get years of use out of this. Her 7 and 9 year old cousins love it as well. And her 16 and 17 year old siblings tried to hide the fun they had while playing with all the kids.I will definitely be looking at other gym dandy products after this experience.

Pros and Cons
By Lee on Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2023
I’m not sure how many stars to give this teeter totter…5 stars for being made of heavy duty metal, it is substantial and won’t tip over. It easily holds 2 adults. It goes up and down and spins smoothly. 5 stars for arriving well packaged and being fairly easy to put together. The paint is bright and shiny. But then there’s the seats. 5 stars for large seats, a good handle and a backrest. 1 star for the quality of material of the seats. It’s awful. They are not metal, wood or plastic seats, but made of something that feels just like styrofoam. The metal bar from the teeter totter runs underneath the seat, with the styrofoam seat on top. The styrofoam has a cheap, very thin fabric that is stapled over it. One season of summer sun will destroy the fabric and one rainy season will rot or mildew the styrofoam. The seats will be junk. I guess i will try to reupholster them when that happens. Otherwise, a very study piece of equipment my kids really like. Hmmm…3 stars?
