Excellent boot! A little tough to break in. So don't plan a 20 mile hike till you have worn them a bit. Took about 10 days for me. The product description said steel toe. Mine came with tag attached saying composite toe. I'm happy with that. Description also says gortex lined but do not understand why. The boots have screened vent holes in both inside arches. Step in a puddle and your feet get wet. I expected this since they are hot weather/jungle type boots. I do a LOT of walking in stones and asphalt. About 5 miles a day. Very comfortable. Not too hot.... even in 90 deg weather. Seem to be very durable so far.

Do not Buy

Do not buy. 1. Long break in. 2. Little support, very hard soles. Not great for daily shifts on hard surfaces. 3. LEFT HEEL STARTED TO COME OFF AFTER LESS THAN 6 MONTHS ON THE JOB. Doing what this were supposedly designed for. I liked the side zip, that's about it.
