Just Like Alarm on your Car - Why not on your house?
By bobbyv on Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2014
This Swann Wireless Home Alarm System works great for my needs. My wife and I both get a wireless remote control just like the remote control for your car. It is so convenient to set the alarm on ( arm ) or off ( disarm ) without you having to punch any keypad for your passwords to arm or disarm. It is just like setting the alarm on your car right after you close the car door. You just have to remember that you have set the alarm everytime you get home, otherwise it will trigger the alarm. The actual sound is somewhat similar to your car alarm when it sounds off. It should be loud enough for any intruder to hear depending on where you want to place the alarm speaker. I place my alarm speaker by the hallway, just outside our bedroom. You want the intruder to hear that they have tripped something in the process of them breaking in thru your windows or doors. They would have to think twice if they really want to enter your home. This alarm can also be set to activate while you are in the house specially at night. By meticulously placing certain sensors to activate the alarm only when someone is at home. You can place the actual control box in your bedroom. All the sensors pretty much operate on a wireless mode, meaning , you don't have wires running all over the place and the sensors can be set to operate in a silent mode. As soon as the sensor sends the radio frequency wave to the controller box, you'll get an instant alarm sound from the sonalert speaker. So, if you have the remote control with you, you can easily disable the alarm in case of a false activation specially from a family member unknowingly tripping the sensor by chance. I like the remote function just like arming and diasarming the alarm on your car. You just need to change the batteries every six months for the sensors to maintain their effective wireless transmission of the RF signal to the control box. Otherwise, dead batteries will cause them no to work ever. It is so portable, sensors can easily be moved from one location to another. I would highly recommend this alarm. Cheap. High Tech. Dependable. Covert operation. Simple to operate. No fuss as long as you follow the instructions. Enjoy!

I love it but it is not perfect.

This is a very easy to install alarm system that is great for apartments or garages. I bought one for my daughter's apartment after her building experienced a couple of units being broken into. I liked it so much that I bought another for my garage. Here are the Pros/Cons: Pros: - Extremely affordable - No monthly service fees - Easy to install - Remote control - Very loud siren (within interior spaces) Cons: - No remote monitoring - No emergency response dispatch (police/fire/medics) - No entry delay - alarm immediately sounds upon entry - Could not reprogram pass code (on either of the two systems I bought) - Siren is not sufficiently loud for detached structures (gargages) Although I really like this alarm, there are some real down sides to it, which is why I didn't rate it higher. I was really disappointed with the pass code feature not working because that is an actual technical flaw. Every other issue I have with it is just a matter of preference but for the cost I really believe that this is a good purchase.
